"If calling the police won't work, are we just going to sit back and let them get away with Mrs. Cantrell bullying a widow and her orphaned stepdaughter?"
Noelle couldn't swallow her anger.
"There's a way Mia can quickly obtain her freedom."
"What is it?"
"I can give Donovan some money."
Noelle blinked at Cedric in disbelief before reaching out to touch his forehead. "You don't have a fever. Did you drink today or something?" Why else would he be talking nonsense?
Grabbing Noelle's hands, Cedric said, "I'm serious. We can negotiate to exchange it for shares of Liddell Corporation. That makes sense, doesn't it?"
Noelle knew he was doing it for her and looked up. "Have you always been this generous?"
"I'm just generous to you. I don't want to see you upset or running around so exhausted for your friends."
"Hmph. Your money is my money, so why should we give it to Donovan? That would just make me angrier. Mrs. Cantrell has no shame for scheming against her niece."
Noelle ranted for a while before she noticed Cedric staring at her the whole time. She touched her face and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"What did you just say?"
"I just said Mrs. Cantrell has no shame for scheming against her niece."
"The sentence before that."
Noelle met his dark eyes and suddenly remembered that she had said, "Your money is my money."
She immediately looked away. "I forgot."
However, Cedric was obviously in a good mood now. "Since you care so much about our money, fine. We'll think of another money. But just so you know, I'm not short on that little amount."
Of course, Noelle knew that he wasn't short on money as the heir of the Greene family, but she couldn't accept him using his money to appease Donovan. That was a hard pill to swallow.
