Noelle looked down and stared at Cedric's hand. "What's your idea then?"

"We get out and talk some sense into them."

She was surprised. What use was there to talk sense to the Cantrell family? They were desperate for money, so how could reason possibly work on people like that?

Cedric pulled the car to a stop outside the Cantrell residence. "It won't work if you try to reason with them, but I can. They need to know you've got someone backing you. We have to push them a little, make them panic, and fall for the bait."

Noelle thought about it and figured it did make sense, but she had just left the Cantrell residence. Now, she was going back?

This time, Cedric rolled down the car window and revealed his identity. Then, he drove straight through the gates with an air of absolute confidence.

She watched the calm, composed Cedric and was in awe. He sure was the heir of the Greene family, after all.

No one stopped the car when they saw it was his.

He didn't bother with the parking lot either. Instead, he steered the vehicle right over the lawn and pulled up in front of the villa doors.

Guards and housekeepers rushed over in a panic, staring at Noelle and Cedric as if facing some incoming threat. But no one dared speak up.

Noelle turned to glance at Cedric, who had one hand resting lazily on the steering wheel and looked completely unbothered. No one would ever guess he was here to pick a fight.

No wonder he was the legendary heir of the Greene family. He sure had that unshakeable arrogance.

Cedric turned and caught her staring. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You look like someone good at fighting. When you were in school, did you and Alfred get into lots of fights together?"

In her mind, she pictured a bunch of hot-blooded rich boys scrapping around campus.

Cedric narrowed his eyes and replied, "You're overthinking it." He never needed to get his hands dirty.

"That's true. I heard you graduated from Yole University too, so you were probably a top student."
