No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 854

Cedric held Noelle's hand and signaled her to stay calm. Then, he looked at Salena and said, "That would be illegal. We'll just sit here and wait."

Noelle was dragged to sit on the couch alongside him. To be honest, she didn't have the nerve to be so thick-skinned, but Cedric was calm and composed as if he belonged there.

Salena gritted her teeth in anger. "There's no point in you waiting here!"

He replied, "We came because we know it'll make a difference."

His words implied a layered meaning.

Salena fell silent as she wondered if Cedric could have discovered something.

Fuming, she turned and left. "Suit yourself."

After she left, he turned to the butler standing nearby and said, "Bring us some juice and fruit."

The butler hesitated for a second but complied anyway. After all, Cedric was the heir of the Greene family, and they had to show their hospitality regardless.

Once the butler was gone, Noelle leaned closer and whispered, "This isn't the same as our plan, is it?"

"Plans can't keep up with changes," Cedric flatly replied and glanced at her. "We can't just barge in, but we can't let them feel too comfortable. Didn't you say you had Ivy's number? It's time to get her moving."

Noelle nodded. "She'll probably hear that we're here soon. News about people shamelessly overstaying their welcome tends to spread fast."

Sure enough, Ivy appeared not long after.

But when Cedric saw her face, a flash of wariness crossed his eyes. She looked too much like Xenia, the adopted daughter of the Liddells.

Noelle tugged at his hand to shift his thoughts slightly. She'd had the same expression the first time she saw Ivy, but this wasn't the place for questions since they were heavily monitored.

Ivy took a seat on the couch, and her expression was pale and sorrowful. "I came to tell you that Mia doesn't want to see you."

"You're pushing too far! This is pure shamelessness!" Ivy's face flushed red with anger, but she still looked fragile and helpless.

Salena had always disliked women like her and scoffed. "When you seduced my brother, did you worry about being shameless then?"

Donovan added, "Just sign it, and we promise to pay you the money in full. As for Mia, don't worry about her as I'll take responsibility."

Though he was using threats, he would at least follow through since he was taking Mia's money.

Ivy lowered her head and fell silent for a moment before replying helplessly, "Fine. I'll sign."

She took out the contract she'd prepared in advance. In a rush, Salena and Donovan signed without checking the details.

Noticing that, a cold glint flashed in Ivy's eyes. It seemed the two had taken the bait.
