Cedric got up to smooth his clothes and pants. "I'm heading out now. I'll have lunch delivered from L Bistro at noon."
"Save yourself the trouble. I'll just eat at school."
"You won't have enough time."
Noelle glanced at the clock. "There is."
However, just as she spoke, Cedric leaned in again to push her back on the couch and deepened the kiss.
She tried to push him away. "A-Aren't you supposed to be heading to the office?"
"It can wait a while," he replied, pinning her hands on the couch.
Noelle's lashes fluttered shyly as her hands were raised above her head. Now, she was completely exposed and defenseless in front of him.
She stared up at the ceiling while her face flushed hard, and her eyes were glassy. Her throat felt dry.
Why had she never realized Cedric was someone who went overboard?
…
By the time everything was over, Cedric kissed the corner of her lips and muttered, "I'll feed your gossip cravings tonight."
Noelle's face was still bright red, and she stayed quiet. Turning her head slightly to glance at the clock, she realized that time was surely running out.
Cedric went to the bathroom, only to come out ten minutes later. Suddenly, a thought struck Noelle, and she furiously asked, "Why were you in there so long? You weren't up to something shady, were you?"
As Cedric did his tie, he casually replied, "Ten minutes isn't enough. You should know that better than anyone."
His expression remained calm, like he was just stating a matter of fact.
Noelle thought about how he'd spent at least half an hour in the bathroom last night. Her face burned red again, and she didn't say another word until the front door closed with a click.
That was when she touched her lips, and they felt a little swollen.
As she thought of all the juicy gossip she'd just learned, she immediately texted Mia, "Your handsome bodyguard's not bad at all. He can survive on his looks alone, yet he insists on using his body."
