No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 874

Noelle grinned, asking, "Does it hurt? You're not allowed to kiss me all of a sudden, okay?"

Cedric pulled up her wrist and carefully inspected her hand. He noticed that her skin had turned a little red. "I'll put some lotion on your hand for you when we get back."

She had only realized how the situation looked when he yanked her to a different room. With his lips now slightly wounded, it was obvious what had happened to anyone seeing them.

She felt a little embarrassed. "It's not that painful, really. I thought something big had happened the way you dragged me off earlier. It's kind of awkward."

He held her hand and replied, "What are you worried about? I can just tell them what happened."

"Alright, you said it yourself."

Noelle then followed Cedric back to the private room in the restaurant. The dishes had already been served.

Alfred looked at them and commented, "So, you two finally finished dealing with your personal matters, huh? Let's eat!"

Noelle kept her head down and said nothing as she took a seat next to Mia.

Cedric picked up a drink and turned to Eugene. "Here's to you finally coming home, Eugene."

"Yeah, welcome back, Eugene."

Noelle glanced up at Eugene to find the bodyguard still as silent and reserved as ever.

Mia followed by picking up her own glass, and everyone clinked their glasses together.

After that, Alfred began asking Eugene about his time abroad, while Noelle and Mia listened.

Noelle could not help but ask. "Have you gotten hurt?"

Cedric shot her a glance with a raised eyebrow. He noticed that she seemed to care quite a bit about Eugene.

Mia, hearing the question, also sneaked a glance at Eugene.

She was curious about what Eugene had experienced all those years being alone abroad and whether he had ever faced any dangers.

Eugene had already noticed her gaze. Even though she tried to act nonchalant about it, he still sensed her attention on him.

Given his line of work, he was naturally sensitive to such things. He gripped his glass and replied, "Yeah, I have."

Her eyes reddened with anger. The next moment, the drunken man was kicked away.

Mia looked up and came face to face with the man she had thought about all day and all night. Her emotions crumbled in an instant.

She started choking up. "You heard it too, right? You also despised me for my leg back then."

Eugene's expression was stern as he walked up to her. "Let's go back."

"Let go of me!" Mia lifted her skirt, her eyes still red. "I know you would never lie to me. So, look at my legs and answer me!"

She had wanted to ask him this for ages.

Eugene's vision blurred from the sight of her long and beautiful legs. Even his immense self-restraint had finally snapped apart at that moment.

Stepping forward, he pulled Mia into his arms.

His broad and sturdy chest enveloped her, while his strong, calloused hands pressed against her pale legs, creating a stark contrast in color.
