No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 875

Mia was so startled that she did not know what to do.

Eugene was a man who rarely smiled or even spoke to her. His now dark expression only made him look even more intimidating.

She was scooped into his arms. The feeling of his hard and burly chest, along with the powerful rhythm of his heartbeat, threw her into chaos.

She was blushing as she stammered, "Let me go."

"You just lifted your skirt for me, and now you don't want me to touch you?" Eugene asked.

His voice brushing against her ear caused her to shrink further into him.

Just then, the sound of high heels clicking came from outside.

Mia panicked. "Someone's coming!"

Only then did Eugene let go of her. She then fled in a hurry without even sparing him another glance.

He watched until she made it back to the private room before heading inside the restroom. He splashed cold water on his face, causing his already sharp and handsome features to look even cooler.

He had once tried to forget about Mia, but his body could not. It craved for her, and only her.

After taking a moment to calm himself down, he left the restroom.

Back inside the private room, Cedric was lecturing Noelle.

Helping her to take some food onto her plate, he said, "You seem to be very curious about Eugene."

"Yeah, I mean, being a mercenary sounds like a really mysterious profession," Noelle replied.

Alfred looked over, adding, "It's also a very dangerous one. He wouldn't have gone to all those dangerous places if he didn't need the money."

"Couldn't he have just done business with both of you?"

Cedric and Alfred had organized a welcome party for Eugene, after all. It showed that the three of them maintained a good relationship.

She usually never saw the two of them introduce any of their friends to her. Eugene was literally the first.

Alfred replied helplessly, "Eugene has a strong sense of pride. He has a straightforward personality, and he's not good at dealing with people. What he does have is his physical strength."

Noelle roughly understood what he meant. She realized that Eugene was, in the end, still a decent guy.

Just then, Mia returned to the private room, blushing as she sat back down.

The moment she saw Mia, Noelle figured that something must have happened between Mia and Eugene outside the room for her to blush.
