Kevin knew that the matter could only be solved by Cedric and nobody else. He had noticed that Noelle was disappointed when she opened the door, even though she did not really show it.
Cedric rolled down the window and glanced up at the sky. He hesitated for a moment before making a call to Noelle, but the call just ended up being a missed call as she never picked up the phone.
He thought about how stubborn she was and decided to get out of the car and take the elevator up to her apartment. It was a route that he knew like the back of his hand, but it now felt unbearably long.
When Cedric arrived at the door, both the doctor and Kevin were still standing outside. He put in the password and entered the apartment, walking through the apartment before stopping at the master bedroom door. He raised his hand and hesitated for a moment before finally pushing the door open.
The curtains were drawn, so the room was only dimly lit. There was a small lump on the bed made by someone lying on it that anyone could have missed had they not taken a closer look.
Cedric walked over to the bed helplessly, having no idea what to say.
When Noelle heard footsteps approaching her, she knew that Cedric had finally come to see her. But his footsteps came to an end by the bed and did not move again.
Noelle wondered if he was planning to just stand there forever. Meanwhile, her stubbornness would not let her make a move either. She wanted to see just how long he would last.
Then, the sound of Cedric coughing into his hand came. He was trying to muffle the sound.
Noelle immediately became worried about him, but upon thinking about what he had done, she forced herself not to care. But after hearing him cough, she could not help but start coughing, too.
The quiet bedroom began to echo with the duet of their coughs.
Noelle could not help but sit up straight and glare at Cedric standing beside the bed. She let out a few more coughs and said, "Get out!"
Cedric sat by the bed and instinctively reached out to feel her forehead.
She immediately slapped his hand away. "Don't touch me."
She was still furious, so she turned to the side and refused to look at him.
Cedric looked at her side profile affectionately and spoke up in a gentle tone. "Let the doctor take a look at you, okay?"
"I'm fine! I don't need to see a doctor. You should go. I don't want to see you," Noelle replied.
She did not even spare him a glance, but even she herself knew that she was just stubbornly putting up a front.
