No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 921

A trace of mockery flashed in Noelle's eyes when she heard Cedric's voice. She replied, her voice hoarse with sarcasm. "Was it fun lying to me for so long?"

Cedric lowered his head, unable to meet her eyes. "I didn't mean to lie to you."

She looked up to reveal a cold gaze. "But you still did it, didn't you? You were in the Merlock family's car, weren't you?"

"Yes."

"Then why didn't you tell me that from the start?"

Noelle felt that she had been played like a fool. She had only talked about her past with Cedric, and yet he had already known the truth of what had happened.

And yet, he never told her about it.

Cedric pursed his lips. "I felt too guilty to say it."

She let out a bitter laugh at the answer. She already expected him to say that.

After asking what she personally wanted to ask, she looked at him and continued, "Then let me ask you one last thing. Were the Greene family involved?"

"They did, but my mother knew nothing about it."

Noelle closed her eyes. Her chest heaved up and down rapidly, revealing the turmoil going on within her. After some time, she finally replied, "So you applied to be the doctor at the school because of me?"

"Yes," Cedric replied.

"You got close to me to see if I still remembered what happened back then?"

He pursed his lips. "I wanted to see how you were doing. I wanted to make it up to you."

Noelle found it incredibly ironic upon learning that he just wanted to make it up to her. Everything Cedric had done for her was out of sympathy and guilt. Just how much did he actually like her, she wondered.

Noelle turned her head to the side. "That's all I wanted to ask. You can go now."
