No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 925

Noelle held onto her aching head angrily. "What are you doing?"

Cedric held onto his chin with his eyes closed. It took a long time for him to open his eyes and look at her with a deep gaze.

She avoided his eyes and continued, "If you're awake, you can get out of here now."

She was still mad about having to take care of another sick person when she was also sick herself.

Cedric frowned, "Where's Kevin?"

She snapped at him, "He ran off already. He's not even answering your calls. He's clearly unfit for the job."

And then there was Alfred, who said that he would come soon but still had not shown up.

Cedric got up and pulled out the IV needle, causing a bead of blood to well up at the puncture point.

Noelle glanced at it and then forced herself to look away, refusing to care about him. He used to be a doctor himself, after all, so there was no way he did not know how to handle a needle.

Cedric sneaked a look at her and said, "I'll be going then."

His voice was hoarse and slightly nasally. Noelle said nothing. She did not even look at him.

Cedric hesitated for a moment and continued, "I'll have L Bistro send over some food later."

"I don't need it. I can order takeout myself if I'm hungry. I won't starve myself," she replied.

She then got up and finally looked at him with a blank expression. "Just get out of here and don't come back ever again. We don't have to keep in touch with each other from now on."

Cedric felt as if he could no longer breathe at that moment. He stood frozen in place for a very long time before finally leaving the apartment.

The moment the door closed behind, Noelle immediately burst into tears as she lowered her head. Her cries grew louder and louder over time. All of the emotions she had been holding in could finally pour out of her heart.

Cedric stood right outside the door. His heart felt like it was being twisted when he heard the sobs coming from inside the living room.

Her cries were practically the cruelest form of torture in the world to him. It made his own chest tighten with extreme anguish.

He stood there for a very long time until the crying inside faded away, and her footsteps moved away from the living room. It was only then that he left the apartment for good.
