No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 926

Upon thinking about how Cedric had lied to her, Noelle did not hold herself back from eating up the porridge. She slept through the night and felt much better upon waking up the next morning.

She then picked up her phone and saw a message from Mia. "Are you doing better now?"

"Much better now. I'll be at class later."

Noelle did not want her friends to worry too much about her. The moment she returned to campus, she was immediately surrounded by a group of reporters.

The reporters' questions were all extremely straightforward. "Ms. Liddell, we've heard that your parents died in a car accident years ago, and it was Mrs. Merlock who hired a hitman to do so due to business rivalry. Is that true?"

"Ms. Liddell, have you been getting close to Mr. Greene in order to investigate the truth behind your parents' death?"

Noelle wondered who had leaked such information. The investigation had not even started, let alone a trial.

Various possibilities flashed through Noelle's mind. She could tell that the reporters were not here with good intentions in mind.

Upon thinking about that possibility, she immediately started crying and covered her mouth while choking up.

The reporters were stunned at the sight of her crying like that. They could only wonder what was going on for Noelle to start crying all of a sudden.

Noelle looked up to reveal her teary eyes. "Thank you everyone for your concern. Back then, my parents had no power or influence, so everything about the case was buried from seeing the light of day.

"Now that even the public is paying attention to the matter, I believe that the truth won't stay hidden in the dark for long."

In a situation like that, playing the victim was the move. She could not possibly try to explain the situation or even accuse the Merlock family directly.

Now that the story about her past was leaked, it was only normal that the public would give sympathy for the underdog of the story. Noelle used every trick she had learned from Xenia.

She began to cry even harder and more pitifully. "Thank you, everyone, for speaking up for me. I believe that justice will prevail, and the truth of the matter will eventually come to light."

With that, she gave the reporters a deep bow. Her entire sequence of actions left all the reporters speechless.

It was not what they had expected. They were left dumbfounded upon suddenly being branded as righteous and on the good side for trying to bring the matter to light. It was not a responsibility they could just shrug off easily.
