Noelle looked at Jeremy and said, "I didn't know you were such an upright person."
Jeremy replied, "I just don't think that we need to spend any money here."
"The money doesn't matter so long as we can get the evidence."
Noelle was desperate to get the evidence and make the Merlock family pay for what they had done. Spending a little money to acquire it was nothing in comparison.
The both of them headed into the men's changing room and found locker number 38. It looked completely ordinary.
Opening up the locker revealed a piece of clothing and a cup. There was no USB drive within. Noelle took out the shirt and the cup and searched through them, but the USB drive was missing.
Jeremy was surprised. "That's strange. Mr. Quigley definitely said that the USB drive was in here."
"Could he have been lying again to stall for time?" Noelle asked.
"Not very likely. Maybe someone else took it?"
Noelle then turned to the manager and asked, "Has anyone else opened this locker?"
The manager looked confused. "I'm not sure. Maybe we can check the surveillance footage for that."
Just then, a cleaning lady walked over and said, "I saw someone open up that locker just now."
Noelle turned to her and asked, "When? What were they wearing? Did you see their faces?"
"It was just a moment ago. The man was wearing a plain gray hoodie and a cap, so I didn't see his face clearly."
Upon hearing that, Noelle immediately dashed out of the changing room. She turned to Jeremy and said, "Let's split up and search."
Jeremy nodded and headed in the opposite direction from her. Noelle rushed out of the spa center and caught sight of a man in a gray hoodie and cap.
She shouted, "Stop right there! Hand over the USB drive!"
With that, the man took off running. Noelle was not completely sure if it was him, but the man's guilty reaction confirmed that he was the one who had taken the USB drive.
