No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101 The Truth Beneath

Nella looked up at Alfred, nodded once, and showed she understood.

In the end, she still didn’t ask how Alfred had gotten hurt.

Remembering she’d forgotten to close the sunroom over the garden when she left that morning, she hurried to check it.

She had just turned when Alfred suddenly grabbed her wrist tightly.

Before Nella could speak, he rushed to explain on his own.

“She suddenly came over and said you called her a homewrecker. After a few words, she got emotional and grabbed a knife, saying she wanted to kill herself. I was scared at the time and didn’t think it through. I tried to stop her with my bare hands and got cut by accident.”

After explaining, he felt something was off.

Seeing the strange, thoughtful look in Nella’s eyes, his panic only grew, his explanation turning disjointed.

“I didn’t get hurt for her. I was afraid something would happen in our house, and the Macks would blame you, so I…”

The more he talked, the messier it became.

But when he saw Nella’s calm eyes, all his words suddenly got stuck in his throat.

“So you’re saying Zoey’s depression flared up because she was called a homewrecker, and that’s how all this happened?”

She pointed her chin at the blood on the floor and spoke evenly.

Alfred opened his mouth, then nodded silently.

Then he hurried to add, “I know this has nothing to do with you.”

Nella tilted her head, thought for two seconds, then said, “No, I had something to do with it. Zoey really was called a homewrecker because of me.”

Her tone was steady, with no guilt or hesitation.

She even looked like she wanted Alfred to believe her.

Alfred stared at her blankly as she picked up her phone, opened Alfred’s chat, and sent him a

“I copied this from the hospital. Zoey must’ve been hit pretty hard.”

With that, she turned and walked toward the terrace.

She hoped that after watching the video, Alfred would understand how much Zoey had suffered. How much misunderstanding she’d endured. That she’d deliberately led strangers into insulting Zoey.

She wanted him to know that Zoey was triggered because of her, and Alfred had almost ruined his right hand because of it.

Alfred cares so much about Zoey. I’m sure he’ll take the initiative to suggest ending our marriage early.

Even though there were fewer than two months left on the contract, for Nella, even two months felt unbearable.

She opened the terrace door and stepped outside, then froze.

Their Emerald Vista Bay home was a 5,400-square-foot penthouse with an extra 1,100-square- foot terrace.

After they got married, Alfred had told her the house could be decorated however she liked. “Decorate the house however you want. I’ll go with it.”

At the time, she was close to finishing her PhD and busier than ever.

But because of Alfred’s words, she squeezed out what little time she had to work on it.

The design itself didn’t need her hands-on involvement. The renovation company Keywood Group hired was top-tier.

Only this terrace was different. She poured all her effort into it.

From the blueprints to every detail after moving in, she handled it herself.

At the

front of the terrace, she’d installed a concealed sunroom.

When it wasn’t snowing, the sunroom could be hidden, leaving an open-air garden.
