But Alfred almost never showed up for them.

Especially when it came to appearing together with Nella.

Earlier, seeing Nella arrive alone, Larissa had naturally assumed this time was no different. That Nella had come alone again to curry favor with Regis.

“Can’t I come back?”

Larissa smiled at Alfred. “As for you, so many family dinners before, your wife always came back alone. Now you suddenly show up today. Of course, I’d find that strange and ask a question or two.”

Her sarcasm made Alfred’s expression change abruptly.

He instinctively looked at Nella’s face, but she still wore that detached, indifferent look he’d grown used to seeing these past few days.
