No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 208

Chapter 208 Couldn’t Even Compare

Finished

“Why don’t we go see if they’ve found him yet? If they really can’t find him, Nella must be in a terrible state right now. That’d be a good chance for you to show how great a husband you are and comfort her.”

Alfred sneered at Mason’s words.

“No wonder Jasmine’s divorcing you. You’re not cheating physically. You’re cheating with your brain.”

My wife is devastated over her boy toy, and I’m supposed to go comfort her?

I’d be crazy to do that!

Ten minutes later.

Alfred was sitting in Mason’s car, his expression complicated and colorful.

Mason drove while biting his lip hard, barely holding back laughter.

So this is what people meant by saying one thing but doing another.

He said no, but his actions told the truth.

Meanwhile, Nella had lost track of how long she’d been searching in the freezing wind.

Her legs seemed to have lost all feeling, moving on numb instinct as she followed the routes where Marshal might have appeared.

Her head was lowered as she kept refreshing messages in the WhatsApp groups.

But the updates she got only left her disappointed.

“Nella, we’ve already contacted traffic control to pull surveillance footage. We should have news soon.”

Jasmine looked at Nella’s deathly pale face and spoke softly to comfort her.

Marshal might have been just a puppy she raised, but he was also her emotional anchor.

Jasmine could clearly tell that ever since she started raising Marshal, Nella’s mental state had improved a lot.

If they couldn’t find Marshal tonight, or if something happened to him, Jasmine didn’t dare imagine what would happen to Nella.

Nella nodded.

Seeing the worry and unease in Jasmine’s eyes, she smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry. I’m fine.”

Jasmine frowned and was just about to speak when she saw Mason’s car slowly pull over not far away.

Alfred was sitting in the passenger seat.

“Why are they here?”

Jasinine frowned, her words carrying obvious resistance.

Nella followed her gaze, and when she saw Alfred, her brow tightened slightly as well.

After the car pulled over, Alfred was the first to get out and walk toward them.

When he saw Nella’s nose red from the cold and her pale face, his brows knitted hard.

“Still haven’t found him?”

Alfred spoke with a dark face. Nella could hear the strong displeasure and disgust in his tone.

She glanced at Alfred.

Exhausted in both body and mind, she had no energy to argue with him about Marshal again.

She even heard a smug little gloat in his voice.

“Why are you here?” Nella asked flatly.

Finished

Alfred looked at her indifferent expression, her lips purplish and cracked from staying in the cold too long. The jealousy he felt toward Marshal flared up again.

“I came to see how stupid your puppy is to actually get lost.”

The undisguised mockery and gloating finally ignited the fear Nella had been suppressing all night.

“Alfred, no matter how stupid he is, to me, he’s the best. To me, you can’t even compare!”

Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Alfred.

Thinking of Marshal whose fate was still unknown and who might be suffering right now, Alfred was still making snide remarks, a fierce, teeth-gritting hatred suddenly rose in Nella’s heart.

Alfred was stunned by her shout.

Not just because she said he couldn’t even compare to a puppy.
