No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235 Chase Him Out

Even with Nella trying to stay polite, it didn’t make Alfred feel any better.

He let out a forced chuckle and asked, “So what, you’re scared I’ll pass out from hunger?”

She said nothing.

The room fell into a short, awkward silence.

One missed dinner wasn’t going to kill him. That wasn’t the point.

Nella didn’t reply, but her face looked caught between guilt and indifference.

Alfred had never felt this rejected in his entire life. And with Nella, he was getting the full tour.

What cut deeper was the fact that he didn’t even have the right to complain anymore.

He didn’t drag it out. He gave Marshal a quick pat on the head and said, “I’ll get out of your hair.”

Nella stood up the second he said that, ready to walk him to the door.

Her eagerness to see him out made his chest tighten even more.

This had to be what regret felt like.

He gave

a bitter smile. When he reached the door, he stopped and turned around.

“Almost forgot. I needed to tell you something.”

Nella gave him a curious look. “What?”

“Tomorrow’s Saturday. The company’s doing a year-end retreat. Everyone’s bringing their families.”

His eyes dropped for a second. The guilt showed on his face.

Finished

“I brought Marshal to the office today. PR posted some pictures of us, and the breakup rumors kinda died down.”

He tensed his jaw and looked away from her.

His lashes lowered just enough to hide how bad he felt.

“The PR team thinks we should show up together tomorrow. It’d help kill the rumors once and for all.”

He looked up slowly, testing the waters.

“Would you be okay with that?”

Nella stared at him. For a second, it was like looking in a mirror.

That same careful tone. That same desperate hope. That same fear of being rejected.

Chapter 235 Chase Him Out

She never imagined the day would come when the roles would be reversed.

But this wasn’t the same.

She used to do this, hoping she could get close to him.

He was doing it to protect Keywood Group.

And in that moment, it clicked. Zoey didn’t matter most to him. Keywood Group did.

He’d swallow his pride for it. Walk on eggshells around her for it.

He didn’t want her to push back. He even used Marshal just to keep her cooperative.

“I’ll go. I’ll play the part.”

Alfred’s brows finally eased.

He exhaled, long and relieved, and the tension in his face disappeared.

“I’ll come get you and Marshal in the morning.”

Then he quickly added, “The ski resort has private pet care. Marshal’ll be totally taken care of.”

Nella’s face froze for a second.

“It’s a ski resort?”

Her fingers clenched into her palm. Her lips drew tight without her realizing it.

“Yeah. The one out at Summit Hills. Bigger than Glacieroth. Way more to do.”

Alfred’s tone softened.

“Last time at Glacieroth, I didn’t really give you a proper trip. Let me make up for it this time, okay?”
