Chapter 301 Flowers Meant More Than Words

Alfred barely touched his food. Instead, he grabbed the bottle on the table and kept pouring drink after drink into his glass.
Mason reached out and stopped him.
“You were just in the hospital for stomach bleeding a few days ago. Are you trying to get admitted again?”
Alfred calmly pushed Mason’s hand away. He lifted his eyes and gave a careless smile.
“Aren’t we celebrating my birthday? You drink on your birthday.”
He filled his glass to the top and raised it to his lips.
Mason stopped him again and snatched the glass away.
“That’s enough. If you feel bad, go ask Nella yourself. Sitting here drinking like a coward won’t help. Even if you drink yourself sick, Nella won’t feel sorry for you.”
“Shut up.”
Alfred glared at Mason, his eyes red. The words were forced out through his teeth.
Mason didn’t back down. “What’s the big deal? Nella just had dinner with another man. Why are you so upset? What you did with Zoey before was way worse. She didn’t make a scene back then, did she?”
“Mason, stop it.”
Archie quickly tugged at him.
Alfred stared at Mason with a dark face, looking like he might throw a punch at any second.
No one in the room dared to breathe.
In the end, Alfred did nothing. He just grabbed the bottle from Mason’s hand.
No one could stop him now. All they could do was watch him closely, ready to call 911 if things went wrong.
“Tsk. Who are you trying to fool?”
The quiet room was broken by a cold, mocking snort.

Archie broke out in a cold sweat.
Danielle stood up and looked straight at Alfred.

“Alfred, I probably don’t have the right to speak here. I’m not close to Nella. But I’ll still say this -you’re acting in a way that’s honestly hard to respect.”
Archie’s legs nearly gave out. He rushed to cover Danielle’s mouth, but she slapped his hand
away.
“Sit down and be quiet.”
Archie froze.
He had never seen Danielle look this serious before.
Even when she called him an idiot, she never looked like this.
“You’ve been married to Nella for three years, right?” Danielle continued. “So what the hell is going on now? Did you only start loving her after she almost died in Glacieroth? Or did you always know she loved you, so you kept pushing her, hurting her, until she stopped loving you? Now, you can’t accept it?”
“Babe-”
Archie tried to stop her again. Danielle shot him a sharp look. He fell silent at once.
“Archie told me you wanted to buy flower seeds from my shop to plant on your balcony,” Danielle said. “When I saw the names of those flowers, do you know what they mean?”
She paused, then went on calmly. “People who grow flowers like to give them meanings. And every flower you chose stands for the same thing-secret love. Love hidden deep in the heart.”
Alfred’s hand froze in midair. The next second, he looked sharply at Danielle.
Danielle wasn’t afraid. She even smiled, a little mocking.
“Nella probably planted them at home before, didn’t she?” She tilted her head slightly. “She pulled them all out later, right?”
