No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341 Money Taken

Claire finally accepted the transfer Nella sent.

The second the notification came through, Nella exhaled slowly.

She wanted no more ties to Alfred. That ridiculously expensive pen from Ryan? That had Alfred written all over it. No doubt in her mind.

There were still three days left before the contract expired. But Nella had said everything she needed to.

Once the deadline passed, she could file the divorce papers.

Sure, the law still required a one-month waiting period. But that part wasn’t covered by the contract. Alfred wouldn’t be able to use it as a loophole to keep her around.

Just knowing it was almost over made her feel lighter inside.

But what caught her off guard was that, even after she’d said all those things to his face, Alfred still hadn’t let go.

For three days straight, someone delivered a bouquet to her office every morning.

Around lunchtime, a hot food container would show up-high-end stuff, professionally plated and still warm.

Nella never caught who brought them. But she didn’t need to. She already knew.

By the third day, her patience snapped. She grabbed her phone and fired off a text.

“Stop sending flowers and food. You’re messing up my routine.”

As soon as it went through, the little typing bubble popped up. It stayed there for a while.

She glanced at it once, then set her phone face-down on the desk.

The lunch looked amazing. Throwing it away felt like such a waste. But she wasn’t touching a single bite of anything that came from Alfred.

“You don’t want it? I’ll take it.”

Riley Hutchins leaned over from the next desk with a grin.

Nella perked up. “You’re serious?”

“Dead serious.”

Riley snagged the lunchbox and gave her a friendly pat on the shoulder.

“I’ve seen this kind of desperate move before. It’s from that ex of yours, right? Guy finally realized he screwed up. A little too late, but hey-no reason this food should go in the trash. I skipped the cafeteria anyway. If you don’t want it tomorrow, just hand it over.”

That handled the meals. The flowers were a different story. They were clearly picked with thought. Nella didn’t have the heart to toss them in the trash.

So if a coworker or student complimented them, she gave them away on the spot.

If Alfred wanted to waste his money, that was his problem.

Right then, her phone buzzed.

A text from Alfred finally came through. “I know you’ll never forgive me, but I still need to say it. I’m sorry. Whether it’s as your husband or just the guy who signed that contract with you, I failed to hold up my side…”

The message went on and on. Nella didn’t even finish reading it.

Same script. Same remorse. Same empty promises to make things right.

She stared at the screen for a second, then typed her response.

“Please stop sending anything. Every time I see something from you, it drags me back to a part of my life I want to forget.”

She made it harsher on purpose. She figured he’d finally take the hint. A guy like Alfred would have his pride. No way he’d keep pushing after that.

Sure enough, his next reply was just one word. “Sorry.”

And that was it. The weekend rolled around fast.

It was the exact anniversary of the day they signed that contract.

Nella drove to Emerald Vista Bay.
