Finisher
It seemed that only by punishing himself like this could he ease some of the guilt he felt toward Nella.
Nella lay in her hospital bed in a haze for two days before her condition finally improved.
In those two days, Alfred never left the hospital. Any important documents that needed his attention were brought directly to the room by Sergio.
“Mr. Keywood, Norris is dead.”
After finishing the work in his hands, Sergio leaned in close and spoke in a low voice.
Alfred’s hands paused briefly.
“Also, the car Norris was driving was some off-brand electric vehicle. The car’s control system had been hacked, which is why it veered off course.”
In other words, their initial suspicion had been correct. The car had originally been aimed straight at Nella.
It also meant that someone else was pulling strings behind Norris’s attack.
No. More accurately, someone had been using him.
And Norris was nothing more than a disposable pawn, discarded the moment he served his purpose.
So, aside from Norris, who was the real person trying to kill Nilla?
The first name that came to Alfred’s mind
But it didn’t quite add up.
Wesley.
As much as he despised his cousin, Alfred had to admit that Wesley wouldn’t stoop so low as to hurt Nella.
What would he even gain from harming her?
“What about the people we sent to Glacieroth? Any updates?”
Alfred asked.
“According to our sources, your aunt, Mrs. Tolina, has in leed been living in Glacieroth all this time. So has Wesley. But five years ago, Wesley went abroad as an exchange student and studied at Apex. At that time, Professor Fred was one of his professors.”
“So Wesley knew Nella five years ago?”
Sergio hesitated. “It’s possible.”
Alfred’s expression remained unreadable. “Continue.”
“Okay.”
Sergio nodded. “So far, nothing unusual has turned up about Mrs. Tolina or Wesley’s life in Glacieroth. When Wesley was ten, Mrs. Tolina married an Uswariar businessman.”
“Is there anything suspicious about this businessman?”

Chapter 379 Invisible Forces
Alfred’s brow furrowed as he asked coldly.
“That’s the strange part.”
Finished
Sergio continued, “The man’s name is Lincoln Shaw. Hes in the import-export business. On the surface, everything about his company checks out. But when our people tried to dig deeper into his family background and how he built his fortune, they hit a wall We couldn’t find anything. Even the details of how Mrs. Tolina ended up in Glacieroth and how she managed to stay hidden all those years have been blocked by some invisible force. Glacieroth isn’t our territory, so if we want to dig any deeper, it’s going to take more time.”
The more obstacles they encountered, the more certain Alfred became that there was something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface.
But why would this conspiracy involve Nella?
Or was Wesley trying to get to him, or the Keywoods, through her?
At that thought, a flicker of murderous intent flashed in Alfred’s eyes.
“Keep digging. Whatever it takes.”
“Got it.”
After Sergio left, Alfred was about to head back to the room when he turned and saw Wesley standing silently at the far end of the hallway, watching him without a word.
Their eyes met, and Alfred’s sharp, piercing gaze locked onto him.
