“The missus,” Sergio answered offhandedly.

“Your wife?”

Maisie covered her mouth and laughed.

Sergio shot her a sideways glance.

“What nonsense. I mean Mr. Keywood’s missus.”

That only made Maisie even more shocked.

“Who did you just say?”

“Mrs. Keywood.”

“Mr. Keywood is married?!”

Maisie didn’t control her volume and blurted it out.

The other secretaries in the CEO’s office heard it too, and all turned to look at Sergio.

In unison, “Mr. Keywood is married?!”

Sergio was startled and only then realized, “You all didn’t know?”

The secretaries nodded emphatically.

The secretaries immediately nodded. “Got it.”

“Sergio, what does Mrs. Keywood look like?”

Thinking of Nella’s face, Sergio couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

Mrs. Keywood and Mr. Keywood were made for each other. A perfect match.

The secretaries obediently returned to their tasks.

Only Maisie stayed behind, still teasing Sergio.

“What did Mrs. Keywood say on the phone just now? She scared you half to death.”

Sergio shot her an annoyed look but didn’t explain, only leaving her with a simple reply.

“You wouldn’t get it. Get back to work and stop snooping.”

After shooing Maisie away, Sergio returned to his office.

Thinking about Nella’s call, he patted his chest in lingering fear.

As the CEO’s senior executive assistant, he might as well have been a mind reader.

That call from Alfred had clearly meant one thing. He wanted alone time with Nella and didn’t want him interfering.

If he’d stupidly gone over to take care of Alfred, the man would really send him off to Fricana.

By then, he would be contributing to Fricana’s development and progress.

The more Sergio thought about it, the more impressed he was with his own quick thinking. Hanging up fast had been the right move.

Meanwhile, Nella stared at the call that Sergio had ended and muttered, “Why hang up so fast?”

Looks like Alfred really is hard to deal with.

Just the thought of taking care of him made even someone as good-natured as Sergio bolt like a cheetah.

She only pushed the door open a bit more, stood at the doorway, and said to Alfred, who was sitting on the couch.
