Chapter 97 Hidden Marriage
Alfred’s name soon appeared on the electronic call board above the injection room, accompanied by the robotic announcement.
“It’s your turn. Go on,” Nella reminded him.
Alfred obediently walked up to the nurse’s station.
At first glance, the nurse lingered on his movie-star looks.
Her eyes lit up immediately. She clearly recognized him too.

Seeing Nella standing beside him, she teased with a smile, “Dr. Milo, you even came along to see the doctor. You sure he’s not your boyfriend?”
Nella rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
This was one of the same nurses who’d asked her in the cafeteria that day.
She hadn’t expected to run into both of them today.
Before Nella could speak, Alfred suddenly cut in, “Dr. Milo wasn’t lying. I’m not her boyfriend.”
Just as Nella thought he’d finally learned to clarify things properly, he added, under the nurse’s stunned gaze, “I’m her husband. We’ve been married three years. Legally.”
The nurse was so shocked that she nearly jabbed Alfred’s vein straight through.
For a moment, Nella honestly wished the nurse would just jab him mute.
His throat was already hoarse from the fever, yet somehow he still had endless things to say.
And when he said the words “legally married,” there was even a childish hint of pride in his
tone.
Nella gave Alfred a strange look but said nothing.
“Dr. Milo, hold the IV bag a bit higher for your husband, or the blood will flow back.”
After inserting the needle, the nurse winked at her.
Once they were seated, Nella hung the IV bag properly and looked down at Alfred.
“You shouldn’t go around announcing our relationship.”

Nella could already imagine that by tomorrow, maybe the whole hospital would know she was a CEO’s wife.
Setting aside Alfred’s dazzling status, his face alone made keeping a low profile impossible.
“You’re making things difficult for me,” she answered honestly.
Alfred frowned deeply, then let out a humorless laugh.
“Nella, what do you mean? I’m your husband. You think I’m a burden?”
The injection room was full of people. Nella didn’t want to argue.
“Forget it.”
She didn’t sit down. Instead, she turned and walked out of the room.
“Where are you going?” Alfred asked quickly.
“To get you some water so you can take your meds.”
With that, she left without looking back.
Standing by the water dispenser, Nella found her thoughts drifting.
She was thinking about her hidden marriage with Alfred.
It wasn’t that she’d never thought of telling others she was his wife,
Her husband was brilliant. He lit up any room.
She once wished the whole world could know how incredible he was,
