The woman didn't waste any time. She grabbed Vincent's hand and tried to guide it toward her.
After all, the guy standing in front of her looked like he had money and knew people. If she let this one get away, she'd probably kick herself for it later.
But right as she went to move his hand onto her, Vincent pulled back. Then he gave her this smooth, charming smile and said, "Sorry. You're attractive, I'll give you that. But I'm already married."
He eased past her and walked out of the bar without looking back.
She watched him go, then stomped her foot in frustration.
Inside, Damian had caught the whole thing with Vincent and Harris. He couldn't hear what they'd said, but both of them looked pissed.
When they stormed off separately, a smile tugged at Damian's mouth.
Melinda looked up just in time to catch it.
He hadn't smiled once all night since they'd sat down. Seeing it now actually made her heart skip a little.
Damian was good-looking—tall, clearly came from money, carried himself like someone used to getting what he wanted.
If she could land him, Melinda thought, she'd have no problem showing him off to everyone she knew.
She wasn't about to let this chance slip. After all, she was the one who'd saved him back then.

By the time Vincent got back to Ravenshade Villa, Lily was already out cold. But heading upstairs, he noticed a light still on in Vanessa's room.
He checked his watch. Almost eleven.
Vanessa was usually in bed by now. Frowning, he pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Hearing the door, Vanessa quickly shoved her tablet under her pillow.
Vincent caught the movement. "What are you hiding?" he asked, curious.
She waited until she was sure the pillow covered it completely. "N-Nothing," she stammered.
His daughter flustered and stumbling over her words—definitely hiding something.
He walked over slowly, held out his hand. "Come on. Let me see."
Vanessa's eyes went wide with panic. She shot a quick look around the room, then hurried out, "Daddy, it's my secret. You can't see it."
That made him smile. "You're what, seven? You have secrets now?"
Vanessa straightened up. "Daddy, Sabrina says every girl gets to have secrets."
Vincent dropped his hand, but he still looked confused. "What kind of secret can't your own dad know?"
