"Will it?" Snow tilted his head as he watched Bram sit down. "You’re asking me to go against Godfrey Daniels? You’re joking, right?"
Bram’s eyes narrowed. "We’re not. We did a check before we entered this place, and the signal of an Origin Tier was traced to you. You’re an Origin Tier summoner, one of the elite few in the entire world."
Bram loosened his tie. "The authorities have plans for the Origin Tiers and there are privileges attached. We’re quite sure Godfrey Daniels isn’t an Origin Tier yet, which makes now the right time to strike. Once you do, your ranking will be high. You’ll have access to top tier secrets and decision making concerning the planet as a whole."
Bram’s words made Snow raise an eyebrow. "I’ve seen what you do. You twist the truth. You claim we live in a modern world but let’s tell ourselves the truth, nothing was ever the same after the apocalypse. Your laws, ideals, they’ve built a wrong world."
Snow looked at Bram and the other agent. "You understand where I stand now."
Bram squinted. "Our beliefs vary but if your family dies now, I’m sure you’ll go searching for your classmate’s mother."
Those words made Snow’s eyes gleam.
"There’s a reason an Association of Origin Tier summoners is on the table. There are monsters from gates that devour planets, existential crisis. Your family might as well be dead if we don’t deal with the Vagabond and all this mess they’re causing. Because of them, the Fanatics grow stronger. They’re killing Divine Tiers and feeding them to their summons, increasing the numbers of Origin Tier summoners under their ranks."
"Leave." Snow replied coldly even after all Bram said. Godfrey didn’t kill him when he had the chance so why should he do the same when the mana tree gave him the chance.
Or was this the goal of the mana tree from the start? To see him fight back?
All of a sudden, gasps arose like a tide from many in the club. It caught Snow, Rowana and Bram’s attention. They turned to see a woman in a white trench coat with silver double row buttons and remarkably high heels.
Snow was stunned that people, girls and especially the guys couldn’t control their reactions to seeing this enchanting woman whose looks were beyond description.
She was like a goddess. The way she walked, slow yet commanding, her cat shaped eyes gleaming with golden irises that could entrap anyone and her flawless skin.
Even with the high rate of beauties in this era, this woman was a goddess. She had that kind of beauty that disturbed a man’s emotions, making you unable to forget that lingering feeling.
She wore a face mask but that didn’t reduce her charm in the slightest. Finally making her way to the table, Nerissa sat down while Bram and the other agent rose to their feet.
They knew Nerissa as someone extremely close to Mr. Manhattan and from the little figured out. She might as well be in the same position as family heads like Mr. Manhattan himself and Arthur Pendragon.
Some family heads chose to be secretive and this lady might just be one of them.
Bram had no idea how his mind had been messed up by this very same woman.
"Adonis... What an exotic name. Suit your looks." Nerissa’s voice flowed out. Her presence alone made Rowana feel small and insignificant.
"And what d—!" Snow froze as Nerissa unfurled two massive moth wings with designs that made it seem like each wing had a massive eye.
"I’ll need you." Her lips curled upwards. She tilted her head backwards only to see everyone in the room had gone silent. They were now puppets, their emotions, hers to control.
She only wanted Snow. The rest were useless.
