"So you passed their tradition. That counts, but to be officially considered a true couple you need a court registration at the very least."
Snow sat down.
"Yeah sure. I’ll walk right out to meet a troop of agents waiting for me. That’s if they’ll even wait." Godfrey scowled, took one more sip before facing Snow squarely.
"So?"
Snow cracked his neck and crossed one leg over the other. "I believe you’ve heard of the Association of Origins."
"A bit."
"Well, it’s an international association. They will be having their first meeting soon. Do you know what that means? A hundred Origin Tiers might show up, imagine all those powerful figures in one place." Snow told Godfrey with slightly squinted eyes.
"They want to hunt the fugitives?" Godfrey asked.
"Well, I was invited with the sole aim of hunting you so I guess hunting down every fugitive might be amongst the list. Or just your mother. However..." Snow’s eyes gleamed.
"The agent said something that startled me. Dungeons capable of destroying Earth. Planet devourers. They might have spotted some and that’s going to be the major aspect of this meeting. At least that’s what I believe."
Godfrey raised an eyebrow. "They’re hiding this from the public."
"Well, the Origin Tiers have to be gathered so it would be news of hope instead of despair. I mean, knowing the entire planet is at risk of being devoured would collapse world order." Snow replied.
"And Cain cares about that?"
"Cain?"
Godfrey frowned a bit at Snow’s expression. This was proof the world at large had no knowledge they were being played by Cain.
"He’s alive. To be more specific, he can live through his clones and one of them might be one of the Seven Heads."
Snow’s expression changed.
"The clones have no idea they were made by Cain and the cycle continues to their descendants. Even our headmaster is a clone."
Godfrey’s revelation made Snow’s eyes grow wide. Just when he thought he knew it all, another secret slammed him.
"Wait, then if he has been in the authorities for so long, why make everyone hate humanoid summoners? Why not twist the view of the public?"
"Because it doesn’t benefit him. He has made sure the strife between summoners becomes a historical rift and has worked hard to destroy any good deed done by other humanoid summons because he wants the public to chase them toward his followers, thus increasing the number of Fanatics." Godfrey said with a solemn expression.
"This kind of society suits his ideals more."
"People would question it but with the repetitive news and nationwide destruction caused by humanoids on his order, the minds of the public were corrupted."
Godfrey’s words made Snow fall silent.
"So Cain can make people and summons? That’s terrifying."
