Chloe Reed looked at Madam Grant with a sneer. "You’re quite the actress."
Then, she sat down on the armchair and calmly looked toward Walker Grant.
Madam Grant’s expression was grim. "You ill-mannered brat! How dare you speak to me like that!"
"Grandmother!"
Walker’s tone was stern, his handsome face clouded with gloom.
"I’ve already investigated what happened. I’m perfectly clear on what you did."
Madam Grant’s eyes flickered, but she had no intention of admitting anything. Her attitude remained aggressive. "Walker, what do you mean? Your wife is disrespecting me. Aren’t you going to do something about it?"
Walker looked at her with indifferent phoenix eyes. "You had her secretly make things difficult for Owen Sterling, drove him to his wits’ end, and then appeared before him like a savior, giving him money to help you deal with Chloe..."
He took a deep breath. "I have always respected you, but how could you do something so shameless?"
"You!"
Madam Grant never imagined her own grandson would scold her!
Her previous anger had been an act, but this was real.
Trembling, she pointed a finger at Walker Grant. "You bastard! You unfilial whelp! How dare you say that to me? Do you still see me as your grandmother?!"
She shot Nanny Lawrence a vicious glare, despising the old crone for her incompetence, which had led to her being reprimanded by her own grandson.
She took a deep breath and said, "I don’t know what you’re talking about. Walker Grant, you say you’ve investigated everything, but did you find any proof that I told Nanny Lawrence to do this?"
