Walker Grant’s sharp eyes held a soft, gentle light as he looked at Madam Grant and asked, "Grandma, do you hope we get back together?"
Madam Grant paused for a moment before speaking. "That’s between you two. I won’t meddle. But I stand by one thing: I will always support Chloe’s decisions. So I hope you won’t do anything to put her in a difficult position."
At her words, Walker Grant lowered his gaze slightly. After a long moment, he finally nodded. "Okay. I understand."
Annie York couldn’t stop herself from stealing glances at him, feeling deeply conflicted. ’She hoped they would divorce, yet she also felt they had been through so much and should be together...’
’But what about her own happiness?’
She was lost in confusion.

Chloe Reed soon came downstairs, having changed her clothes. She wore a simple white long dress under a beige trench coat. Her long hair was curled, and she had on light makeup, making her look altogether exquisite and radiant.
"Grandma, I won’t be home for dinner tonight," Chloe Reed said with a bright smile as she walked over to Madam Grant’s side.
Madam Grant nodded. "Alright. Go enjoy a nice meal."
Chloe Reed gave her a hug and said, "We’ll be going now, then."
"Mm."
The two of them left together, and Madam Grant picked up the remote to start watching TV.
Annie York had originally been hired for cleaning, but when Chloe Reed saw how good she was at cheering up Madam Grant, she had her join Aunt Woods in caring for the old woman.
Now, she was sitting beside Madam Grant, watching television with her.
She finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and asked tactfully, "Grandma, do you know what kind of falling-out Mr. Grant and Chloe had? They seem to be doing just fine."
After a few seconds, Madam Grant replied, "I don’t know the specifics. And besides, it’s not your place to worry about it."
Annie York nodded hastily. "You’re right. I won’t ask again. I was just worried about Chloe."
Madam Grant said nothing more.
