Chapter 32 Class A Can Keep It

here?” –

“Advisor Barnes. What brings you here?”

Anne looked puzzled.

Barnes smiled the moment he saw her.

Not warmly.

Smugly.

That trimmed mustache made the expression even more annoying.

Most people did not know why Anne had been moved here.

Barnes did.

Pinthed

“Two matters. First, I came to thank Ms. Moore for so generously giving up the Class A advisor position to me.”

At the beginning of the year, advisors had drawn their classes at random. Anne landing Class A had been luck.

Not that she lacked ability. Anyone qualified to advise students at the Imperial Military Academy was no pushover.

But Anne had good luck and terrible political sense. She had offended the academy leadership, then treated the Class A students with rigid discipline instead of flexibility.

So the higher-ups gave Class A to Barnes, someone who knew how to keep people happy, and sent Anne to Class F.

“You’re giving me too much credit, Advisor Barnes. If you became Class A’s advisor, that was due to your own ability. It had nothing to do with my generosity.”

Anne answered evenly.

Barnes seemed pleased. He stroked his mustache.

“Second, I’m here about this midterm assessment.”

The students of Class F stared at one another.

He was not even their advisor anymore.

Why the hell was he talking about their assessment?

Barnes stepped into the classroom and stopped beside Julian’s desk.

“Julian, come with me. Your assessment performance was exceptional, so the academy has approved an exception. You’re moving to Class A.”

“Huh?”

Julian was sleep-deprived and craving pheromones. His brain stalled so hard that his entire Omega body seemed to lag.

Barnes misunderstood at once.

In his eyes, Julian had been stunned by joy because he had never imagined he could enter Class A.

Noah reacted faster. He looked straight at Anne.

“Ms. Moore, is that true? Julian has to transfer?”

As Julian’s friend, Noah wanted good things for him.

Class A was packed with talent. Of course it was better than Class F.

But because Noah was Julian’s friend, he also did not want him to leave. If Julian transferred, his dorm would change. After that, Noah might only see him in shared lectures.

“Of course it’s true.”

Barnes answered before Anne could speak, practically glowing with pride.

To him, Julian had been his student in Class F. Now Barnes had gone to Class A, and Julian was being promoted right after him.

Was that not proof of Barnes’s teaching ability?

He had already pictured Julian standing up.

Noah and the others also thought the matter was settled.

Then Julian yawned.

“No.”

Barnes paused. “?”

Julian repeated, flat and impatient.

“I’m not going.”

Barnes had thought he misheard.

Julian was far too exhausted to play along.

“Julian, that’s Class A….”

Noah’s throat went dry.

He was secretly happy Julian wanted to stay, but he was afraid Julian had no idea what he was turning

down

“Yeah. Class A. So?”

Julian nodded for him to continue.

With the whole classroom watching, and Barnes looking proud enough to burst, Noah explained, “Class A has the geniuses of our department. Some of them could already make C-class energy blocks before admission. A few could even make B-class ones…

And that was not the only advantage.

Mechas were war machines that ate money. Mecha engineering was just as expensive.
