Chapter 33 Run First, Survive First

“Do I have to transfer?”

“No.”

Anne smiled.

Julian really was unlike any student she had taught. She had realized that yesterday in the conference

room.

“Then I’m staying.”

Julian yawned again. His small nose twitched, and he tried to sneak his sleeve closer for another breath of lingering pheromone scent.

“Can I ask why you want to stay?”

Barnes’s expression had gone dark. He clearly thought Julian was insane, but Anne wanted to hear the

answer.

“Why…”

Julian inhaled as much pheromone scent as he could from his sleeve, then thought for a moment.

“Our teacher is responsible. Our classmates are all talented. Everyone talks nicely. I like this place a lot.”

Barnes went speechless..

Anne laughed before she could stop herself.

“All right. Since this is your own choice, I’ll handle the rest as your advisor.”

Then she turned to Barnes, polite but distant.

“Julian has no plans to join Class A. Advisor Barnes, please don’t delay my class any longer.”

“You…”

Barnes looked at Anne.

Then at Julian, who was clearly drifung off in his own head.

Humiliation burned across his face.

“Hopelessly stubborn.”

He left the Class F classroom, already swearing that one day Julian would come crying to him.

The second Barnes was gone, Class Fexploded with cheers.

Noah rushed forward first, and several Beta boys followed Together, they lifted Julian and threw him into

the air.

Julian, who already felt like death, went silent.

Stop fucking throwing me. Do it again and I’m going to black out.

After the brief celebration, Anne brought the room back under control and began announcing assessmen results.

Class F knew its limits, so most students had chosen lower-ranked teams. Weak teams played carefully. Because of that, no one in their class had died during the assessment, though most scores barely cleared the passing line.

Julian was different.

The online video had turned his score into a runaway lead.

So he sat there expressionless while Anne replayed the footage again and again, breaking down his movement on the Golden Tarric Scorpion frame by frame.

His classmates kept gasping.

Every few moments, someone muttered things like, “That was insane,” “I’m taking notes,” and “I’m going to kite an S-class bug too.”

Anne soon got to the point.

“You should all see it. Julian has trained his reflexes and knows multiple evasive techniques. His physical condition, however, is far too weak.”

Julian was hit out of nowhere.

He said nothing.

“I’m not criticizing him for being weak,” Anne continued. “I’m saying that if his body could keep up, those movements would have been even sharper.”

She pushed up her glasses, her tone crisp.

“The reason I made you watch this repeatedly is simple. As my students, you will have extra requirements

“What kind?”

Noah asked.

Class F had heard that Class A used to have extra lessons. They had just never seen them. They had abso heard many Class A students hated those lessons.

“Physical conditioning. Every one of you must reach at least the entry standard of Class F in the Mecha Piloting Department.”

The room nearly burst.

Except for Julian, every student froze.

Mecha Piloting Class F

Finished:

Mecha Piloting was the academy’s top major. Engineering had Classes A through F. Piloting had Classes S through F, with one hundred and twenty students in each class.

Classes S, A, and B were all Alphas.

Classes C through F were Betas.

But those Betas were still built like weapons.

Combat, assassination, tactics-physical ability was only their baseline, and nobody questioned it.

Even a Class F pilot Beta could probably beat five of them at once.

“Julian, your opinion?”

Anne looked at him.
