Outcast Omega Pampered by the Alpha General novel Chapter 4

Chapter 4 I Shouldn’t Have Bothered Talking to You

Julian looked up and saw a red-haired Alpha with sharp, hawklike eyes and a high nose smiling at hun with open mockery.

The original owner’s memories quickly supplied the answer.

This was Merrick Holt, the S-rank Alpha who would be leading Julian’s squad for the field assessment.

Beside Merrick stood someone Julian recognized even more easily.

Short, pale blond hair was combed neatly into place, sharpening the Alpha’s already defined features.

His eyes were a deep glacial blue, calm and cold, with a natural distance that seemed impossible to cross

This was Caelan Rookwood.

The moment Julian remembered the name, Caelan looked over. His usually indifferent brows slowly drew together.

“I have nothing to do with him. I never have, and I never will.”

Any normal person would have known to stop there.

But Merrick had not become one of the most hated captains across every department by knowing when to

stop.

“What a shame. Such an outstanding junior from Mecha Engineering, and so devoted to you too.” Merrick turned to Julian with a smirk. “What do you think, Julian?”

He looked at Julian, practically waiting for him to rush forward like he used to, fawn over Caelan, and loudly demand to join Caelan’s squad.

Even better if he embarrassed Caelan in front of everyone.

After all, had this particular lunatic not just made a scene on the forum?

Then they heard Julian answer with complete deadpan calm.

“Don’t ask. We had history. I’m not saving him, I’m not saving his mother, the house is under my name, and that’s the end of it.”

Merrick: “?”

Everyone else: “?”

Caelan Rookwood: “…”

What the hell did that mean?

Seeing that Merrick still wanted to keep stirring things up, an Alpha beside Caelan, clearly another squad captain, finally stepped in.

do! Have Bithered Talking to You

That’s enough. Are you still mad about the drop-zone assignments? If you want to go where the insectoids are thickest and rack up military credit, you’d better make sure your squad can actually handle it

Merrick’s expression darkened at once.

Clearly, the comment had hit a sore spot.

“Exactly. It’s one thing for you to overreach, but you’ve got a Class F Beta on your squad too. Don’t make life harder for yourself.”

Another Alpha patted Merrick on the shoulder with a mocking smile, taking a jab at Merrick’s ambition while also dragging Julian into it.

To Caelan’s supporters, Julian’s earlier response had obviously been offensive.

But who was Julian?

He was an independent cultivator who had been one step away from ascension before a heavenly tribulation blasted him into this ridiculous place where even the species and power systems had changed.

On top of that, he had inherited the original owner’s entire mess.

At this point, the resentment in his chest was heavier than a ghost’s.

So he said expressionlessly. “What’s wrong with a Class F Beta? Did this Class F Beta eat your food, wear your clothes, or spend your money?”

The Alpha who had been snapped at fell silent. “…”

The other Alphas all looked toward Caelan, as if wondering whether his little stalker had suddenly switched strategies.

Unlike their surprise, Caelan merely narrowed his eyes. His voice became even colder.

“Julian, don’t you have anything to say to me? About what happened on the forum yesterday, and what you said to Eli?”

In Caelan Rookwood’s memory, he had only helped Julian once during the entrance field exercise.

Julian had clung to him ever since.

Then, in less than a month, that poor Beta from a fringe colony had somehow become the true son of the Whitmore family.

After that, Julian not only blocked him at the training field and used the Whitmore name to force his way onto Caelan’s squad, but also repeatedly started fights with Tristan in private and bullied Eli, the boy they had all protected since childhood.

Every bit of it disgusted him.

“What did I say?”
