“All right.”

Delight exploded across the nun’s face. She launched into a frantic explanation of her plan and swore that Wynn would be the only other person to know it.

Wynn remained cool and faintly indifferent through

ery word.

After finishing another glass, he finally rose.

“Then we are done here.”

He set the glass on the table with a sharp crack, activated the privacy shield installed around each seat, and left Starlight Summit.

The nun departed soon afterward, once more embracing the ancient Bible and moving with graceful, reverent steps. Her mood was so bright that she hummed hymns under her breath all the way out, drawing curious and appreciative looks from passersby.

The man behind the bar did not pause for even a fraction of a second.

He kept polishing until the hour changed and his shift ended-or rather, until the shift of the person he was impersonating ended.

After leaving the tower, he crossed the street. A woman nearby suddenly rubbed her eyes, confusion spreading across her face.

“What is it, honey?” her date asked politely.

They stood in the capital’s most famous fandom district, where enthusiasts in bizarre costumes passed through at all hours. Some even used advanced interstellar technology to recreate famous scenes, characters, and abilities from old animation and fiction.

The woman smiled.
