Please Come Back, My Love novel Chapter 218

Chapter 218

“Fair.” I lowered myself into a chair, knees threatening to give out. “So… Chun Kit’s guys?”

He exhaled sharply. “They were talking about a flight to Hong Kong. Something about a malfunction. Then they called someone to confirm everything was arranged. That whatever they’d done would be enough to cause an accident.

My stomach lurched. “Oh God…”

“I didn’t understand at first. None of us usually fly commercial, but I remembered the flight number. Just in case.” He crouched in front of me, eyes locking onto mine. “It was your flight number.”

I forgot how to breathe. Every muscle in my body stiffened as my mind grasped the full weight of what he’d said.

“They planned to crash the plane… Me and Rex… everyone on board.”

Tears blurred my vision. I didn’t even realize I was crying until Renzo’s thumb brushed one away.

“We don’t know that,” he said softly. “It could’ve been something less deadly. A scare tactic. A delay. We can’t be sure.” He cupped

my face gently, his hands unexpectedly warm.

I inhaled shakily. “You’re right. Crashing a plane… that’d be overkill.”

A faint smile. “But an effective one.”

“Not funny.”

He laughed quietly, then stood, stretching his shoulders. “When Romilly told me you were headed to Hong Kong, I assumed you’d be flying with us. I was surprised to see you here so early our flight’s not until ten.”

I wiped my face. “Chun Kit called this morning. Sent tickets last-minute. I tried to reach Theron, but”

“They kept him busy. Uncle gave him three back-to-back meetings today. Had to be intentional.” Renzo’s fists clenched at his sides. “They didn’t want him to know you were flying commercial.”

I rose slowly. “So… what now?”

He shrugged. “That’s up to you. You can walk away, play it safe. Or… you can fight.”

I blinked. “Fight?”

His grin returned. “Be my plus-one.”

hesitated. “It’s risky. If Chun Kit really wants me gone, who says I’ll be safe once I land?”

Chapter 218

“That’s why you’ll be with me. He won’t touch you under my protection not without making it obvious. Besides.

“Wouldn’t it be fun to watch his face when he sees you alive and well?”

His eyes gbnited

My heart thundered. I had reasons to go to Hong Kong evidence to gather, Wong to find, a merger to stop. Theron once called me his daredevil.

Maybe now, I was finally living up to that name,

Could I trust Renzo? Not entirely.

But I couldn’t walk away either.

“Well?” he asked, eyebrow raised.

I took a breath. “I’m coming with you.”

His hands came together in mock prayer. “Thank God. Your suitcase is already loaded on our plane.”

“My what?!”

He rolled his eyes. “Don’t be dramatic. Come on.”

He took my hand again, leading me back through staff corridors like he’d memorized every shortcut. We slipped out a back door,

just as a sleek black limousine pulled up.

Renzo opened the door, offering a wink. “Apologies for earlier. Things will be smoother now.”

We drove to a separate part of the airport, where the Lockhart family’s private jet gleamed under the floodlights. My stomach

flipped.
