Jackson smirked and took a step toward me.

I didn’t move. I couldn’t. My body felt limp, and useless, as if my mind had disconnected from everything below my neck. All I could do was breathe hard, each breath trembling out of me as I stared at him in fear.

He took another slow step. My pulse hammered in my ears. Something wet slid down my hand. I glanced down and realized they were my own tears. I hadn’t even noticed’d started crying.

Fear burned in my chest, twisting with anger until I couldn’t tell which one hurt more. Who was I supposed to blame? Them, for doing this to me? Or myself, for being so stupid for letting it happen in the first place?

If I’d been smarter, I wouldn’t have believed that good things could happen to me. I wouldn’t have let my guard down just because life had started to feel normal again.

I was wrong.

Jackson moved again, faster this time. I flinched, finally trying to move back, but his hand shot out, shoving me hard. My back hit the wall, then the floor. My head slammed against the tiles, a sharp crack echoing in my skull.

Stop resisting,Jackson growled, gripping my chin roughly, forcing my face up until I had no choice but to meet his eyes. His breath was hot against my cheek, his tone dripping with arrogance. I know you want me. You’ve been begging for attention all night. I can tell.

My stomach twisted. Let me go!

He only smirked wider, his thumb digging into my jaw. Come on, Grace. Don’t make this difficult. You’ll like it if you just stop pretending.

I turned my face away, shaking my head furiously. But he only tightened his grip, forcing me to look at him again. Just relax.he murmured. Let’s have some fun.

Something inside me snapped.

The fear that had held me down suddenly burned into fury. My pulse roared in my ears as adrenaline surged through me. I wasn’t thinking anymore. Before he could lean closer, I twisted my body and drove my knee up as hard as I could. I said let me go!

The impact was brutal. He choked out a strangled gasp, staggering backward, his face contorting in pain.

Ah! You fucking bitch!he snarled, clutching his dick and stumbling against the sink.

A giggle rang out behind him. Piper. Her phone was already raised, recording everything like it was entertainment.

Wow,she said. Didn’t think you had it in you, Grace.

I scrambled to my feet, dizzy, my head still ringing, and male a desperate dash for the door. My fingers brushed the handle, before Jackson’s hand grabbed a fistful of my hair and yanked me backward a

I screamed as pain tore through my scalp, tears spilling faster as he dragged me down. Then came the slap. The sound cracked through the room. My cheek burned instantly, and my ears rang with the impact. I tasted blood For a second, everything blurred. Piper’s laugh echoed from somewhere far away. Jackson’s breathing was rough.

Hey, dude, be careful,Landon said from behind them. We can’t have bruises on her. That can be evidence, you know?

Jackson laughed, a dark, humorless sound that made my stomach drop. You know what? Fuck it. I’m done being nice. I’ll show you just how rough I can be.

He grabbed my wrists and forced my hands up over my head, fingers biting into my skin.

He pressed his weight against me, pinning me in place. His leg slid between mine, forcing them apart as my dress rode higher. The fabric bunched around my hips, and the cold air kissed my skin.

He moved his hands to his own waistband. The motion was slow, like he wanted me to feel every second of it.

I squeezed my eyes shut, my whole body trembling. No. God, please. No. Someoneanyone, please helpApollo, help me.

It was stupid. He wasn’t even in the country. But he was the only one who came to mind, the only person, besides my friends, who had ever shown me genuine kindness. How would he look at me if he found out? Would he even believe me?

I tried to pull my hands away, but Jackson’s grip only tightened. My chest heaved as I struggled to breathe. God, I hated this. Every nerve in my body was on fire.

Piper had been right. No one was coming. No one would save me. My chest tightened, and I was about to squeeze my eyes shut, ready to block out the nightmare entirely, when suddenly, a violent kick slammed against the door.

Time froze. Every nerve in my body screamed as I stared at the door, my stomach twisting with a mix of fear and a spark of hope. Another kick thundered through the wood, rattling the doorframe.

“What the fuck?!Landon barked, stumbling back, eyes wide with shock. Didn’t you say you put a sign at the door?

II didPiper stammered, her voice barely more than a whisper. I kept a sign there, butwho’s kicking the door open?

Are you fucking asking me? Do I look like I know?!Landon snapped. Piper flinched and looked away, her fear plain on her face.

Hope flared inside me. Someone was coming. Someone would stop this. I told myself, praying it wasn’t another cruel trick.

Jackson didn’t even flinch. His eyes were locked on me, while one hand fumbled with his pants like it was the most normal thing in the world.

“Jackson! Stop! Someone’s opening the door! You can’t-

Like hell I’ll stop,Jackson snarled, sneering down at me I have to teach this stupid bitch a lesson. Maybe if I put it in her, she’ll finally learn some respect.

But what if the door opens?Piper’s voice trembled.

Jackson waved her off with a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes. Don’t worry. The door can’t possibly be kicked off that easily. I’ll be fast. If we ignore them, they’ll eventually leave-

BANG!

There was another kick. The door slammed open violently, he hinges rattling. Their faces turned toward the door. Even Jackson, the man who had been so confident, froze. Fear flickered across his features.

Grace!

I blinked through the haze, tears streaking my face, and my eyes landed on the door.

The first person I saw was Adam, his expression frozen in shock. My gaze shifted to his side, and there he was, Apollo. He was breathing hard, chest rising and falling like he’d just sprinted a mile. Blood stained his knuckles, as if he’d been pounding on the door in a blind attempt to break through.

But that wasn’t what made my heart stop. It was the way he looked at the man on top of me. Apollo’s jaw twitched, his hands clenching so tightly his knuckles turned white. I had never seen him like that. In that instant, I knew, nothing in the world could stop what was about to happen next. 2
