Someone dared to touch what is mine
Apollo
I stared at the dark screen of my phone after she hung up, my reflection staring back at me with a faint frown that I did not even realize had formed. The warmth from her voice still lingered in my ears, but there was still that unease that refused to disappear.
When I heard she had gone to the hospital earlier, something inside me tightened instantly, and for a brief moment I had been ready to walk out of the meeting and drive there myself just to see her with my own eyes.
Genesis had stopped me.
“She’s her own woman, Apollo,” she had said calmly. “Let her breathe. Let her handle her own matters. You can’t cage her with your worry.”
I knew she was right, and that was exactly why I forced myself to stay seated even though every instinct in me screamed to go after Grace and make sure she was fine. I wanted her to be free, so I swallowed my anxiety and convinced myself that trusting her was the right thing to do.
Now, as I looked at the phone again, I could not help but question whether I had made the right choice.
Beside me, Genesis rolled her eyes playfully, though there was amusement in her tone as she said, “Are you finally satisfied, Apollo? Not only did you interrupt an important meeting, but you’re acting all lovey–dovey in front of everyone. Look at your directors. They’re so scared they can’t even breathe properly.”
I lifted my gaze slowly.
Across the long conference table, every executive who had been staring at me in shock immediately looked away the second my eyes met theirs, as if direct eye contact would cost them their careers, or their lives.
I looked away. I did not care about them, or the rumors that would inevitably spread after today. People had already been talking, already piecing together their own versions of the story after seeing how I treated Grace differently from everyone else. I had never publicly announced our relationship because I did not owe the world an explanation, but I had never hidden it either. If they were smart enough, they would figure it out. If they were not, it was not my problem.
I lowered my eyes back to the document in front of me and forced myself to focus.
Just as I was about to resume reading, my phone rang again.
Without checking properly, I picked it up, assuming it was Grace calling back to say something she had forgotten, but the moment I saw the caller ID, my expression darkened instantly.
Because of how dangerous things had become recently, especially with Hannah’s killer still out there, I had quietly assigned someone to follow Grace from a distance whenever she went out alone. She did not know. She would not like it if she knew. But I would rather endure her anger than risk her safety.
If that man was calling me now, it meant something had gone wrong.
Genesis noticed the shift in my expression immediately, the playful teasing vanishing from her face as she said sharply,” Everyone leave.”
The executives looked confused for a second, but none of them dared question her tone. Chairs scraped against the floor as they stood and hurried out of the room one by one.
Chase, who had been standing by the wall, turned to follow them.
“Except you, Chase,” Genesis added.
He froze mid–step.
I brought the phone to my ear, my voice low as I said, “Speak.”

On the other end, the man stuttered, “M–Mr. Reed… something happened.”
My jaw tightened. “Don’t make me drag it out of you. Speak.”
I could hear him swallow through the line before he forced himself to continue. “I was following Miss Grace’s car like you ordered, and everything was normal at first. She left the hospital and got into the car. I assumed she was heading home. But then … the car suddenly sped up. I tried to keep up, but traffic blocked me for a moment.”
My grip on the phone tightened.
“I followed the possible routes the car could have taken,” he continued quickly, fear evident in his voice, “and I eventually found the vehicle abandoned near an empty road. There was no one inside. They switched cars. Mr. Reed…”
There was a brief pause.
“Miss Grace has been kidnapped.”
The moment the words left his mouth, I ended the call.
My breathing remained steady, but the expression on my face was anything but calm. Something dark and violent was rising inside me, something I had never allowed myself to feel so completely before. I had been angry in the past. I had been ruthless, and cold. But this was different.
This was rage.
A slow, suffocating, merciless rage that burned through my veins like poison.
I lifted my head slightly, “Someone dared to touch what is mine.”
Chase instinctively stepped back, because he had never seen me like this.
Genesis pressed her hand to her mouth. “Oh my God… Grace.”
I turned to Chase, my eyes devoid of warmth. “Use all of my influence,” I ordered coldly. “Every connection. Every resource. I don’t care what it costs. If you have to search until the end of the world for my woman, you will do it.”
My voice dropped further, turning into something that did not even sound human anymore.
“Grace must be found within the next hour,” I continued. “If she is not, I will take your life instead.”
Chase swallowed hard but did not hesitate. “Yes, sir.”
I stood up slowly, adjusting the cuffs of my sleeves as if I were about to attend a formal dinner instead of unleashing hell.
Genesis stepped in front of me. “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to the person who will give me answers.”
I did not wait for her to ask who.
I walked out. And anyone standing in my way would regret existing.

Grace has been kidnapped
Ryan
The message appeared on my phone while I was in the middle of reviewing a patient’s antibiotic dosage.
[Grace has been kidnapped.]
I stared at the screen.
For a moment, the world around me faded into silence, then my eyes darkened, something dangerous flashing through them as the words replayed in my mind.
Kidnapped.
My grip tightened unconsciously around the glass vial of antibiotics in my hand.
Crack.
The glass shattered, breaking into sharp fragments that cut into my palm.
The doctors around me gasped, stepping back immediately, their faces filled with fear and confusion as blood slowly dripped from my hand onto the white tiled floor.
I tilted my head slightly, staring at the crimson staining my skin as if it were nothing more than spilled water.
“They dared,” I said quietly, almost thoughtfully, “to kidnap my sister.”
The room felt colder.
I slowly lifted my gaze, and the look in my eyes made everyone freeze.
“I guess some people are courting death,” I continued calmly. “And since they want to die…”
A faint, terrifying smile touched my lips. “I’ll grant their wish.”
I turned slightly. “Noah.”
My assistant immediately stepped forward, posture straight despite the tension in the air. “Yes, Mr. Ryan.”
“Use every connection the Jones family has,” I instructed, my tone composed but merciless. “Hospitals, police, private investigators, underground networks, I want everything activated. I want checkpoints locked down. I want every camera feed within a fifty–mile radius reviewed.”
My eyes hardened.
“Find my sister.”
Noah nodded immediately. “Yes, Mr. Ryan.”
I picked up a cloth and wrapped it around my bleeding hand without even glancing at it again.
Whoever dared to touch Grace had just signed their death certificate.
Theodore
“And the Best Actor Award goes to… Theodore Jones!”
The crowd erupted into applause, cheers echoing through the massive hall as lights flashed and cameras zoomed in on my face.
I stood up from my seat with my usual indifferent expression, adjusting my suit lazily as if this was just another ordinary

evening instead of one of the biggest nights of every actor’s career. Awards had never meant much to me.
Still, I walked toward the stage with steady steps, the spotlight following me, the audience chanting my name.
I reached out to accept the trophy, then my phone dinged inside my pocket.
I normally would have ignored it, especially at a moment like this, but something made me pause, The sound felt wrong. Without caring about etiquette or cameras broadcasting live to millions of viewers, I pulled my phone out and glanced at the
screen.
[Grace has been kidnapped.]
For a second, I thought I read it wrong, then my eyes widened.
Heat rushed to my face so fast that my vision almost blurred, and I felt something violent snap inside my chest.
“Those bastards,” I muttered, my voice filled with fury.
The microphone caught it.
The audience fell into confused murmurs, other actors staring at me, fans whispering as they sensed something was wrong,
I didn’t care.
I lifted my head slowly and looked directly into the camera, my jaw tight, my eyes burning with something far more terrifying than any role I had ever played on screen.
“My little sister,” I said clearly, my voice echoing through the silent hall, “has just been kidnapped.”
Gasps spread across the audience.
“I know the greatest detectives in this country are the public,” I continued, my tone sharp and commanding. “So help me find
her.”
I tightened my grip around the phone until my knuckles turned white.
“Anyone who finds out where she is,” I declared without hesitation, “I will grant them any wish. Money, influence, opportunity. Anything.”
