Grace has been kidnapped
Ryan
The message appeared on my phone while I was in the middle of reviewing a patient’s antibiotic dosage.
[Grace has been kidnapped.]
I stared at the screen.
For a moment, the world around me faded into silence, then my eyes darkened, something dangerous flashing through them as the words replayed in my mind.
Kidnapped.
My grip tightened unconsciously around the glass vial of antibiotics in my hand.
Crack.
The glass shattered, breaking into sharp fragments that cut into my palm.
The doctors around me gasped, stepping back immediately, their faces filled with fear and confusion as blood slowly dripped from my hand onto the white tiled floor.
I tilted my head slightly, staring at the crimson staining my skin as if it were nothing more than spilled water.
“They dared,” I said quietly, almost thoughtfully, “to kidnap my sister.”
The room felt colder.
I slowly lifted my gaze, and the look in my eyes made everyone freeze.
“I guess some people are courting death,” I continued calmly. “And since they want to die…”
A faint, terrifying smile touched my lips. “I’ll grant their wish.”
I turned slightly. “Noah.”
My assistant immediately stepped forward, posture straight despite the tension in the air. “Yes, Mr. Ryan.”
“Use every connection the Jones family has,” I instructed, my tone composed but merciless. “Hospitals, police, private investigators, underground networks, I want everything activated. I want checkpoints locked down. I want every camera feed within a fifty–mile radius reviewed.”
My eyes hardened.
“Find my sister.”
Noah nodded immediately. “Yes, Mr. Ryan.”
I picked up a cloth and wrapped it around my bleeding hand without even glancing at it again.
Whoever dared to touch Grace had just signed their death certificate.
Theodore
“And the Best Actor Award goes to… Theodore Jones!”
The crowd erupted into applause, cheers echoing through the massive hall as lights flashed and cameras zoomed in on my face I stood up

evening instead of one of the biggest nights of every actor’s career. Awards had never meant much to me.
Still, I walked toward the stage with steady steps, the spotlight following me, the audience chanting my name.
I reached out to accept the trophy, then my phone dinged inside my pocket.
I normally would have ignored it, especially at a moment like this, but something made me pause. The sound felt wrong. Without caring about etiquette or cameras broadcasting live to millions of viewers, I pulled my phone out and glanced at the
screen.
[Grace has been kidnapped.]
For a second, I thought I read it wrong, then my eyes widened.
Heat rushed to my face so fast that my vision almost blurred, and I felt something violent snap inside my chest.
“Those bastards,” I muttered, my voice filled with fury.
The microphone caught it.
The audience fell into confused murmurs, other actors staring at me, fans whispering as they sensed something was wrong.
I didn’t care.
I lifted my head slowly and looked directly into the camera, my jaw tight, my eyes burning with something far more terrifying than any role I had ever played on screen.
