Chapter 159
Before Victoria could answer, someone else spoke up. “That’s right. Victoria is a poison master. Nobody in the world can handle poison like she does.
“And only she can neutralize her own poisons, since they’re all her own unique creations.”
Hearing this, Annie turned and saw a man in a delivery uniform standing by the private room, holding a fancy–looking takeout box.
“Gavin?” Annie stared at him in surprise, looking him up and down. “Why are you delivering food again?”
Like Victoria, Gavin had just been brought back to the Fairbank family not long ago, but the Fairbanks didn’t throw him a welcome party.
They just announced it on their official social media account.
Gavin looked at Victoria, about to say something, but suddenly his face turned anxious. “Victoria, hold on.
“I’ll come find you as soon as I finish this delivery, or I’ll get fined for being late. Wait for me, okay? I’ll be right back.”
With that, he dashed off with the takeout box, flying down the hallway.
Annie was left speechless. ‘Do all delivery guys race against the clock like this?‘
Victoria was at a loss for words.
Gavin did have real professional spirit. This gave Victoria the perfect chance to make her escape. She jumped up. “Let’s go.”
She didn’t want to waste a second.
“Huh?” Annie blinked, then caught on. Victoria was dodging Gavin and making a run for it. “Alright.”
She hurried after Victoria, keeping pace.
She praised, “Victoria, you’re amazing. Your medical skills are incredible, you can use poison and antidotes, and you even control poisonous insects and snakes.
“Seriously, how many talents do you have? I’m in awe of you. No wonder Gavin won’t give up on you. He’s totally obsessed. If I were a guy, I’d be the same.
“No wonder Simon is so obedient now. He and Angelica know their lives are in your hands.
“They must be worried sick. But they brought this on themselves, so let them regret it for the rest of their lives.
“And you’re so smart, Victoria. You purposely had Simon go up against Pierre, so no matter which of them gets into trouble, you get to sit back and enjoy the show.”

Chapter 159
As they walked, Victoria said, “Annie, you’re pretty sharp yourself. You really picked up on what I was doing
Victoria’s compliment made Annie’s eyes light up, and she replied with a bashful grin, “Aw, it’s nothing, I’m not that clever.”
After her little moment of shyness, Annie turned to Victoria and asked, “Victoria, where are we headed now?”
Gavin arrived at Private Room 4 right on time, only to be surprised to see his sister, Sophie, and her inseparable bestie sitting inside.
He plopped the takeout down on the table, annoyed. “Sophie, did you do this on purpose?”
Sophie raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. “What would I be doing on purpose by ordering takeout?”
“You ordered takeout just so I’d be the one to deliver it and you could laugh at me, Gavin said, his voice tinged with irritation.
Sophie picked up the takeout and started unwrapping it slowly. “I wanted some cake from that bakery, but I was busy with this auction.
“I didn’t have time to go pick it up. So I ordered delivery. How was I supposed to know the app would assign you to the job?”
Gavin didn’t buy it for a second. Even though he’d only come back to the Fairbank family, he knew Sophie’s tricks all too well. She got a kick out of messing with him.
He’d even overheard Sophie and her bestie calling him “my idiot brother.”
“Our family owns this delivery app, remember? If you wanted to make sure I was the one delivering your order, that’d be a piece of cake for you,” Gavin said.
Sophie feigned surprise. “Wow, you know our family owns this app? I’m impressed. I thought all you knew was how to deliver takeout. But I’m not that petty.”
Gavin rolled his eyes. “You so are that bored. Watching me make a fool of myself is your favorite thing.”
Sophie opened the takeout box and saw the beautifully crafted desserts inside, perfectly intact.
She grinned. “You’ve really got this delivery thing down. But have you reflected on anything yet?”
Gavin said, his voice unwavering. “What do I need to reflect on? What’s wrong with chasing true love?
“Tell Dad, even if I end up delivering takeout forever, I’ll never give up on Victoria.”
Sophie couldn’t help but clap for him. “Good for you. Keep at it then.”
Gavin curled his lip in disdain. “Come on, there’s no way Dad’s gonna make me deliver takeout for the rest of my life. Not wasting my time on you. I’m off to find Victoria.”

Chapter 159
With that, he spun around and rushed straight toward Private Room 1.
Watching Gavin rush off, Sophie’s bestie joked, “Your brother might be a total doofus, but he’s head over heels for Victoria.”
Sophie smiled. “It’s just the thrill of chasing what he can’t have.”
When Gavin got back to Private Room 1, he found Victoria was already gone. He scratched his head in frustration and quickly dialed her number.
Victoria didn’t pick up.
He had no choice but to send her messages.
Gavin: [Victoria, didn’t I tell you to wait for me? Why’d you leave?
[Is it because you saw me delivering takeout again and now you’re ashamed of me?
[Relax, there’s no way my dad’s gonna have me delivering takeout for the rest of my life.
[He’s just trying to teach me a lesson and make me move on from you, but that’s never gonna happen. I could never give you up.]

Victoria got in the car, and her phone wouldn’t stop buzzing.
She picked it up and saw it was all messages from Gavin.
Victoria thought, ‘Wow, even Gavin’s dad has had enough of him. Guess that’s why he sent his son out to deliver takeout to make him reflect on his life choices.
“Victoria, what’s up?” Annie asked, seeing her frown at her phone.
‘Seriously, who could make Victoria look so troubled?‘ Annie thought.
“Nothing. Gavin blew up my phone again. If I ignore him, he’s annoying. If I reply, he’s even more annoying,” Victoria said, letting out a helpless sigh.
Annie jumped in, “Hey, Victoria, if you don’t mind, let me help you out.”
“Oh? And what’s your brilliant plan?” Victoria asked, raising an eyebrow.
Annie grinned. “Just hand over your phone, Victoria. I’ll reply for you. I bet Gavin will stop bugging you for good once I’m done.”
Victoria could’ve ignored Gavin, but he wouldn’t stop blowing up her phone.
Clearly, ignoring him wasn’t going to fix anything, so she handed her phone over to Annie. “Alright, it’s all yours.”
