“Greenie,” Victoria said, laughing and crying at the same time. It turned out that it was just some homemade aphrodisiac pills she’d made when she was bored.
Greenie cocked its head and blinked at her, looking totally innocent.
Victoria reached in, grabbed it, and hauled it out of the cabinet.
“You’re just a little snake, but your mind is even messier than mine,” she joked.
Greenie stuck out its tongue in an adorably cute way.
“Look at you, Greenie, getting all cocky now! Should I feed you these pills and see what happens?” Victoria teased, pretending to shove the pills toward it.
Greenie quickly slithered away.
Victoria chuckled helplessly and looked down at the two aphrodisiac pills in her hand, rolling them between her fingers.
She and Jackson didn’t need anything like that. Just a glance at each other was enough to make them almost lose control.
Thinking that, she slipped the pills back into the bottle.
Just then, a message from Annie popped up, with screenshots of her chat with Gavin from last night.
Gavin: [Victoria, today, when I was out delivering food, this gorgeous girl tried to get my number, but I didn’t give it to her. See how loyal I am to you? If it were Jackson, who knows what he’d do.]
Annie: [Gavin, come on, you’re getting way too cocky! One girl hits on you, and you can’t wait to brag? Do you even know Jack used to have like a hundred and eighty girls throwing themselves at him every single day? And my Jack turned every single one of them down!]
Gavin: [A hundred and eighty girls every day? No way! I deliver food, and I don’t even see that many people! Jackson must be hyping himself up, making up stories to look cool.]
Annie: [Just because you don’t have girls chasing after you doesn’t mean it’s not real. Have you seen my Jack? He’s got insane looks, crazy status, and the kind of charm that makes girls go wild. A hundred and eighty girls a day? That’s not even an exaggeration. It’s just beyond your imagination!]
Gavin: [Then shouldn’t you feel even less secure? With so many girls throwing themselves at Jackson, how can you be sure he won’t give in to temptation someday? How can you know you’re his one and only?]
Gavin: [But I’m not like that! I’ve only got one girl chasing after me. There’s barely any temptation for me, so I can be totally loyal to you!]
Annie: [So basically, you’re saying if enough girls come after you, you can’t stay faithful? But my Jack’s been surrounded by temptation for years, and he’s still kept himself clean!]
Gavin: [How do you know Jackson’s still clean? For all you know, he could’ve hooked up with who knows how many girls! But I swear to God, I’m still untouched!]
Annie: [Yeah, like your promise means anything!]
After reading through the screenshots, Victoria guessed the girl who tried to get Gavin’s number was probably the one Jackson used in his honey trap scheme.
At the end of the screenshots, Annie added: [Victoria, don’t listen to Gavin’s nonsense. I swear on my life, Jack has never

Annie: [If Jack really wanted to, with his status, he wouldn’t have to hide it. It wouldn’t affect his future family alliances at all.
Annie: [But I know Jack cares about you, so I absolutely won’t let his reputation get tarnished! I have to set the record straight for him!]
Victoria couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the message and shot back a reply.
She replied: [Honestly, even if Jack did have a past, as long as he wasn’t fooling around, I wouldn’t care.]
She added: [Of course, I know Jack’s never had any romantic history, and I’m certain he’s stayed clean.]
She teased: [But wow, you really went hardcore with that promise–swearing on your own life for Jack!]
Annie shot back almost right away.
Annie: [I just didn’t want you to get the wrong idea, Victoria- Otherwise, I’d totally swear on my ex’s life for real!]
Annie: [Anyway, as long as you trust Jack, that’s all that matters! But tell me, Victoria, how are you so sure Jack’s still a virgin?]
Victoria: [I treat Jack every day, so I can sense his virginity. With my ability, I can tell for sure if he’s ever been with anyone.]
Annie: [Whoa, Victoria, that’s wild! Can you really figure that out just from his virginity? Next time I get a boyfriend, can you check him for me too? I’m a total neat freak about relationships. Any guy I hook up with has to be squeaky clean!]
Victoria: [No problem.]

As/evening fell, the sky was ablaze with a blood–red sunset, painting half the world in fire.
Darell barged into the house, fuming. He’d just heard some shocking news from Julia that his own son, Simon, had been poisoned by Victoria!
The news struck him like lightning, and he couldn’t get home fast enough.
As soon as he got home, Darell called Simon over.
He fixed his son with a piercing stare and demanded, “Your mom said Victoria poisoned y
Simon was caught off guard for a second, but quickly realized it must’ve been Angelica who ratted him out to Julia.
He nodded slightly and replied, “Yeah.”
Darell’s frown deepened, his face growing even more serious. “Why didn’t you tell your mom and me about something this serious?”
Simon looked guilty as he replied, “Dad, I just didn’t want you guys to worry. I figured I could deal with it on my own.”
But Darell wasn’t having it. His gaze slowly dropped to Simon’s right foot, and he pointed at it, his voice cold and heavy. “So, your right foot was crippled by that wretched Victoria, too, wasn’t it?”
Simon lowered his head, not even trying to deny it.
Darell felt a wave of fury crash over him. He never imagined the one who’d done such harm to his son wasn’t some cruel enemy, but his own daughter–Victoria.
“I kept wondering which enemy could be so ruthless, who would go so far as to destroy your foot. Turns out, it was the

disgrace I brought into this world!” Darell was shaking with rage, his fists clenched so tight his nails dug into his palms. “Looks like we were far too lenient with her before, and now she’s become so audacious!”
After a long moment, Darell snapped, “You kept this from your mom and me for so long, and you’re still poisoned. Since you can’t fix it, I’ll deal with it myself!”
Simon replied, feeling defeated, “Dad, you know how tough she is. It’s not like we can just catch her whenever we want…
He really had nowhere else to turn, so all he could do was try to butter up Victoria, hoping she’d let him off the hook.
Darell’s icy stare was sharp enough to pierce right through Simon. “Why can’t you wise up? If you can’t take Victoria head- on, then target someone she actually cares about!”
Simon froze, fear washing over his face. “Dad, you’re not seriously thinking…”
Darell’s tone was downright ruthless. “Exactly. Victoria might be a handful, but Daisy? She’s easy pickings.”
Simon trembled, completely frozen. “Dad, everything that happened–my foot, the poisoning–it was all Victoria. Daisy had nothing to do with it, right? So maybe we shouldn’t drag her into this…”
But Darell cut him off, his voice rough and furious. “You got hurt this badly, and you still think your uncle and aunt Daisy aren’t responsible? If they hadn’t ignored us and gone ahead, taking in that disgraceful Victoria, would she have been able to run wild in the Binder family?
“In the end, it’s all because your uncle and aunt let her do whatever she wanted! I’m starting to think their whole act of staying out of things was just a front, Maybe Victoria’s been targeting our family because they were stirring things up behind. the scenes!”
