As soon as Daisy finished speaking, she realized something was off. The driver in the front seat wasn’t her usual chauffeur, but someone with a somewhat familiar face.

This middle–aged man was none other than John, the deputy butler from Darell’s family, who had been kicked out by

Victoria.

Daisy stiffened, wary. “John? Why are you here? What are you up to?”

While questioning John, Daisy secretly operated her phone, flipping through her call history, planning to call her husband,

Just as she was about to press the call button, out of nowhere, the car braked hard. Daisy lurched forward, and her phone flew out of her hand, landing by her feet.

John spoke up from the driver’s seat.

“Daisy, don’t waste your energy. I picked a place with zero reception on purpose,” he said.

Once Daisy had steadied herself, she glanced out the window. Night had fallen, and everything outside was dim and shadowy. They were parked in front of a secluded urban village, and there wasn’t a soul in sight.

“John, do you even realize what you’re doing? I’m the First Madam of the Binder family. If my husband finds out you’ve kidnapped me, you know what will happen to you,” Daisy said, trying to keep her cool as she prepared to negotiate and strike a deal.

down, Daisy realized John must have taken her to get revenge on Victoria. That meant he wasn’t planning to kill her, at least not yet. He was just holding her hostage to threaten Victoria.

With that figured out, Daisy kept her cool and said, “John, if it’s money you want, I can give it to you.”

After parking the car, John turned around, his face twisted with malice. “Of course I want money, Mrs. Binder! But I also want to get back at that little bitch, Victoria!”

“It’s all your daughter’s fault! That little bitch just wouldn’t let it go. She had to kick me out of the Binder family! I’ve busted my ass for this family for years, and Mr. Darell and his wife always trusted me. I treated the Binder family like my own home.

“But Victoria? She was just some country bumpkin before she got brought back, and now she acts like she owns the place. Instead of showing me any respect, she forced me out. Who does she think she is? Once I’m back in the Binder family, I’m gonna make that little bitch get down on her knees and admit she was wrong!” he fumed.

Daisy frowned. “So this whole kidnapping thing–was it Darell and Julia’s idea? Did they promise to get you back in with the Binder family?”

“Mrs. Binder, don’t try to fish for answers from me. If Mr. Darell’s bold enough to have me do this, it means he’s not scared of your husband or Mr. Calvin coming after him,” John said as he opened the car door and stepped out, about to pull Daisy

out with him.

Suddenly, blinding headlights beamed from the narrow lane behind, hitting John right in the eyes.

John squinted, raising a hand to block the glare from the car behind.

In that split second, a figure shot out from the car.

Before John could even react, a kick slammed into his waist, sending him sprawling several meters away.

“Are you alright, Mrs. Binder?” A woman’s cool, clear voice called out from the darkness.

Daisy snapped back to reality, still shaken as she stared at the woman outside the car.

The woman was dressed in a black leather jacket and tight black leather pants, her whole vibe icy and intimidating.

Daisy had no idea who this woman was.

“Who are you?” Daisy asked.

Mara bowed respectfully. “Mrs. Binder, I’m one of Victoria’s people. Just stay in the car and let me handle this guy.”

With that, she shut the car door and walked over to John, who was just trying to get up. She kicked him hard, sending him crashing back to the ground, and he howled in pain.

Mara pulled out her phone and started recording John, who was writhing on the ground. She said coldly, “If you don’t want to die, then spill it. Who put you up to this?”

By seven o’clock, the night had grown even darker.

Victoria stood by the window, gazing at Silverwood Villa across the way, her eyes as deep and unreadable as a bottomless lake.

Three little snakes were quietly by her side.

Suddenly, a ringtone shattered the silence.

Victoria glanced at her phone and answered Mara’s call.

“Boss, your mom’s safe. The guy who grabbed her is John. He used to work for Darell as a butler in the Binder family. He’s been pissed ever since you kicked him out. Darell promised him he’d get his old job back if he managed to snatch your mom,” Mara said.

Now that she knew who was behind it, Victoria’s gaze was downright chilling, like a ghost in the night. “Got it.”

“Boss, what do you want me to do with John?” Mara asked.

“Just wait until Darell calls him again. We’ll see what Darell wants to do with my mom,” Victoria replied.

“Got it.” Mara said.

Daisy’s voice came through the phone. “Are you talking to my daughter?”

Victoria said softly, “Mara, hand the phone to my mom. I want to talk to her.”

“Sure thing, boss,” Mara replied.

Soon, Daisy’s voice came through the phone.

“Victoria, I’m okay now. Lucky your friend showed up right on time and got me out of there. But how did you something was going to happen to me?” Daisy asked.

Victoria replied, “Mom, after everything I’ve done since I returned to the Binder family, Darell and his family must really hate my guts. Once they realized they couldn’t get anything out of me, they’d definitely target the people close to me. That’s why I’ve always had someone keeping an eye on you behind the scenes.”

Thinking of that, she turned to John and asked, “What did you do to my driver?”

John stammered, “Daisy, I just knocked him out for a bit. He’s okay, nothing happened to him.”

Daisy let out a sigh of relief.

Victoria remembered Daisy’s usual driver. Back when she went to Mullinran Village to pick her up, he’d been genuinely friendly and never once looked down on her for her background as a village girl–unlike John, the deputy butler from the Binder family’s Silverwood Villa.

“I’m just glad your driver is alright. Mom, Darell kidnapped you to get at me. Tonight, don’t go home. Have Dad stay with you somewhere safe. I’m going to play along with their plan and wipe out Darell’s family for good tomorrow!” Victoria said.

If this had happened before, Daisy would’ve just tried to keep the peace and let things slide. But after what she’d just been through, she wasn’t going to just grin and bear it anymore. She agreed, “Okay.”

After hanging up, Victoria gave Greenie a gentle pat on the head, then called Jackson to tell him about Daisy getting kidnapped.

Finally, she asked, “Jack, tomorrow I’m going to take down my real parents for good. Want to come to the Binder family and

watch the fireworks?”

Jackson replied seriously, “This is a huge moment–going against your own blood. Of course, I have to be there with you. Plus, I haven’t officially visited your parents at the Binder family yet, so it’s the perfect chance to have a proper chat. Otherwise, I’d look like a pretty lousy fiancé to you, Vickie.”

“Sounds good,” Victoria said.

After finishing her call with Jackson, Victoria sent a message to Annie.

[There’s going to be some drama at the Binder family tomorrow. Want to come watch the show?]
