Chapter 171
At ten o’clock that night, Julia came back to Silverwood Villa with two old men.
These two were the exorcist Julia had asked her family to bring in.
“Masters, please rest up tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll need you to check if my father–in–law is cursed or suffering from guilt,” Julia said, then called out, “John, take the masters to their rooms.”
Darell came up behind her and reminded her, “You forgot. John’s already been fired.”
“Oh, right.” Julia’s face soured as she remembered. She was about to grumble, but Simon stood up from the couch and said, “Mom, I’ll take the masters to their rooms.”
Julia waved her hand. “Alright, you handle it.”
Once Simon took the two old men upstairs, Julia fumed, “That troublemaker Victoria is always meddling in our business! She even had the nerve to fire John, who’s been with us for over twenty years!”
Darell picked up a pack of cigarettes from the coffee table, lit one, and took a drag.
“Relax. John will be back working for us soon. I’ve already sent him to tie up Daisy,” he said.
There was no emotion in his voice, as if Daisy wasn’t even his sister–in–law.
When Julia heard that Darell had sent the fired butler, John, to kidnap Daisy, she felt a wave of satisfaction. “It’s about time! Daisy’s been getting more and more out of line lately. If we don’t teach her a lesson, she and Hector will never take us seriously! They only have themselves to blame for insisting on taking in that troublemaker, Victoria!”
Julja gritted her teeth. “Since that troublemaker Victoria won’t go to the hospital to see Curtis, we’ll just have to make her bend the hard way!”
Darell blew out a smoke ring and said, “Julia, are you sure you’ve got everything sorted with my father?”
Julia promised confidently, “Relax! No matter if Calvin’s really been hit with a curse or not, I’ve already worked things out with the masters. Victoria’s got nowhere to run this time!”
Darell pressed, “This plan has to go off without a hitch. If anything messes up, we’re the ones getting booted from the Binder family.”
Julia nodded.
When Simon came back downstairs after settling the two old men, Darell looked at his eldest son. “Simon, tomorrow morning, go to the hospital and handle Curtis’s discharge. Bring him home, and bring Angelica home as well.”
Simon snapped out of it. “Okay.”
Julia clapped her hands excitedly. “Tomorrow, I’ll have Sirena and Bater come over, too! Victoria stirred up trouble at the Clark family yesterday, probably offending Bater as well. Let them see for themselves how Victoria gets thrown out of the Binder family!”
Darell nodded. “Alright.”
After everything was set, Darell called John.
The call connected almost instantly.
“John, how’s it going with what I asked you to do?” Darell asked.

John replied, “Mr. Darell, it’s all taken care of. I’ve got her right here.”
Right after, Daisy’s voice came through the phone.
“John, let me go! Hurry up and let me go!” she shouted.

Hearing Daisy’s voice, Darell finally felt at ease. “Good. Chop off her right ring finger–the one with the wedding band. Bring it to me first thing tomorrow.”
There was a heavy silence on the other end.
Darell assumed John was hesitating, so he scowled. “What, you chicken out?”
John’s voice came back, shaky. “Got it, Mr. Darell.”
“That’s all I need to hear. Do this right, and you’re back in. I’ll even throw in a fifty percent raise.”
“Thanks, Mr. Darell…” John muttered.
Even with the promise of coming back and a pay bump, Darell didn’t catch any excitement in John’s reply. He figured John was just nervous about hurting Daisy, so he didn’t dwell on it and hung up.

On a desolate backstreet in the slums.
John dropped to his knees, shivering as he looked up at Mara. “I did everything you asked. Can you let me go now?” he pleaded, his voice shaky with fear.
Mara grabbed his phone again, and with her other hand, she pulled a knife from her waist.
She turned to Daisy and said, “Mrs. Binder, you might want to step aside. Things are about to get bloody.”
Hearing Mara’s words, Hector–who had rushed over as soon as he got the news gave John a frosty glance, then pulled Daisy close and quietly guided her to the back seat of their car, not sparing John/another look.
Mara twirled the knife in her hand, crouched down, and said coldly, “Since Darell wants a finger from Mrs. Binder, looks like yours will have to do.”
Before John could even beg for mercy, Mara brought the knife down without hesitation, using brute force to hack off his ring finger. The pain was so overwhelming that John passed out instantly.
Mara picked up the severed finger with a handkerchief, wrapped it up with a blank expression, then tied John up, hauled him off the ground, and dumped him into the trunk of her car.
Once Mara finished, she turned to Hector and Daisy. “Mr. and Mrs. Binder, I’m afraid you’ll have to stay somewhere else tonight. Head back home in the morning.”
But Hector pulled Daisy tightly into his arms and said, “I need to return to the Binder family tonight. Mara, please look after my wife for me.”
His gaze was chilling, colder than ever as he spoke.
He never thought in a million years that his own brother, Darell, would actually target his beloved wife, Daisy.
This had crossed the line he could never tolerate.
This time, Darell would pay. There would be no forgiveness.

Hector gently let go of Daisy and said softly, “Daisy, go have dinner with Mara and get some rest. I need to head back to the Binder family for a bit, but I’ll come find you later.”
Daisy frowned, worry flickering in her eyes, but she still nodded softly. “Okay.”

It was nearing midnight, and the lights in the living room of Silverwood Villa were still burning.
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
Simon, lounging on the couch, checked the intercom and saw Hector standing outside. His heart leapt into his throat.
He hesitated, debating whether to open the door.
‘It’s
y clear Uncle Hector’s here because of Aunt Daisy,‘ Simon thought, his nerves on edge.
The doorbell rang relentlessly, its sharp and urgent chime piercing through the silence of the night, jolting both Darell and Julia awake even though they’d already settled in for the night.
The two stepped out of their rooms, gripping the railing on the second floor as they peered down at the living room below.
“Who the hell is out there ringing the doorbell this late at night?” Darell grumbled, his brows furrowed in annoyance.
Simon sat in the living room, his eyes glued nervously to the door. When Darell asked, Simon’s heart skipped a beat. He couldn’t hide the unease in his gaze as he answered, “It’s Uncle Hector.”
As soon as Darell heard Hector was at the door, his expression turned grim in a flash, a cold smirk barely visible at the corner of his mouth.
‘Looks like Hector’s here to confront us about Daisy disappearing, Darell thought, a hint of mockery flickering in his
eyes.
“Just ignore your uncle. Let him keep ringing the doorbell,” Darell said coldly, a flicker of disdain in his eyes. Then, his expression soured as he snapped,
time to let your nerves get the Why aren’t you in bed yet? You’ve got a pile of things to deal with tomorrow. This isn’t the
of you!”
Simon hesitated for a moment, then slowly nodded. “I know.”
He got up and headed upstairs to his room, his steps heavy.
Out of nowhere, just as Simon was heading up the stairs, a violent crash erupted from outside, making the whole villa tremble.
As the banging got even louder, Simon stopped in his tracks and hurriedly called out, “Dad, I’m going outside to see what’s happening.”
He turned and hurried downstairs to open the villa door. As soon as he swung it open, he was greeted by a swarm of bodyguards outside. Some were pounding the iron gate with massive sledgehammers, while others were using cutting tools to slice through the metal bars.
Darell frowned, realizing he couldn’t pretend nothing was happening anymore, and went downstairs,
Julia rushed to her room, grabbed a coat, and draped it over her shoulders, then followed him down.
Just as they reached the villa entrance, the iron gate came crashing down with a thunderous roar.
The bodyguards parted, making way for Hector as he strode into the villa.
