Victoria’s lips curled into a cold smile as she said, “So, you’re actually willing to die for me?*

Julia, standing nearby, felt a jolt of panic. She rushed over and grabbed Curtis’s hand, her eyes filled with worry and fear.

Her voice shook as she pleaded, “Don’t do anything crazy. I know you feel guilty about Victoria and want to prove you’re sorry, but risking your life isn’t the answer.”

Curtis brushed his mother’s hand aside. “Mom, I mean it.”

He turned to Victoria, his gaze serious and sincere. “Victoria, as long as you…”

Victoria interrupted him with a teasing smirk. “Alright! Pick how you want to die.”

Then she turned to Annie. “Annie, could you and your friends help me find something in this room for Curtis to finish himself off?”

Annie snapped to attention and saluted. “Got it!”

She shot a look at her three besties. “Let’s go! We’re gonna find something for Curtis to do himself in with Curtis, just you wait!”

Her three besties nodded.

With that, the four of them eagerly scattered to different spots, searching for anything Curtis could use to end it all.

Julia looked like she didn’t even know what to say while Curtis was totally stunned, unable to say a word.

Simon just stood there in silent, and Darell’s face burned with shame.

Hector looked at Daisy, who was still concerned, and said, “Let Victoria handle the rest. Let’s take Mom and Dad back so they can get some rest.”

Now that things have finally settled down and Darell’s family was no longer a threat to Victoria, Daisy nodded. “Okay.”

Jackson joked, “Should I grab something for Curtis to off himself with too?”

“No need, Jack. Just stay here with me.” Victoria chuckled softly.

Before long, Annie came running out of the kitchen, a kitchen knife in her left hand and a bag of salt in her right. “Mission accomplished!”

Soon after, her three besties wandered back into the living room, one holding a pair of scissors, another with a rope, and the last clutching some ancient brick from who–knows–where.

Victoria told Annie and her friends to drop their loot, then pulled a porcelain bottle out of her pocket and set it on the coffee table with everything else..

“Alright, Curtis, take your pick,” Victoria said with a mocking smile. “You can stab yourself with the knife, swallow the whole bag of salt, snip your throat with the scissors, hang yourself with the rope, or if none of those work, just down this poison”

Curtis was totally lost.

He was ready to die to make it up to Victoria, but he wanted his death to actually mean something, not just throw his life away for nothing.

So, what, you’re backing out now? Not willing to die for me after all?” Victoria mocked.

Curtis hurried to defend himself, “Of course I am, it’s just that I…”

Victoria cut him off coldly. “Oh, please. Do you think you’re so noble? Just like when you tampered with my brakes for Angelica’s sake, not caring if I lived or died?”

Curtis’s face was full of anxiety as he tried to explain, “I don’t think I’m so noble. I just really want to make it up to you…”

Before Curtis could say another word, Victoria cut him off again. “Enough. Your life doesn’t mean a thing to me. Dead or alive, it makes no difference to me.”

Victoria’s icy stare and ruthless words pierced Curtis’s heart. In that moment, a wave of regret crashed over him. He was consumed by remorse for all the pain he’d inflicted on his own sister.

Victoria continued, “I only let you wake up so your whole family could see just how pathetic you all are. Abandoning your own daughter and sister for the sake of a criminal’s child, now you get to witness how tragic your fate has become.

“I’ve made my point. If you don’t want things to get even worse, stay out of my sight and don’t bother me again. Or I won’t show any mercy!”

Then, she walked out of Silverwood Villa without looking back. Ollie pushed Jackson’s wheelchair, following right behind her.

Curtis clutched his chest, watching as Victoria’s figure faded into the distance, his eyes brimming with regret.

He knew he had brought all this on himself.

He also knew that no matter what he said now, Victoria would never trust a word he said, and she would never forgive him.

Curtis couldn’t even dream that Victoria would ever forgive him, let alone welcome him back as her brother with a clean slate.

All he wanted now was to spend the rest of his life doing everything he could to make it up to Victoria.

With that thought, Curtis turned back to Angelica, who was still lying on the ground, and stomped down hard on her knuckles, crushing them under his heel.

“You evil girl, I’m not done with you yet! I’ll keep tormenting you, making you watch as Victoria lives a happy life while you suffer in misery! This is what you deserve for what you did to my sister!” Curtis spat.

Angelica screamed, but this time, there was no one to comfort her. The pain was even more unbearable than before, and she finally couldn’t take it anymore. She blacked out from the agony.

Julia looked at the battered Angelica, knowing that no matter how much they tormented her, there was no going back to how things used to be. She shot her husband a helpless look. “What are we supposed to do now?”

Darell had seen firsthand just how ruthless and determined Victoria could be. Since she’d made it clear they needed to move out, there was no way they could stay.

If they pissed her off any more, getting her forgiveness would be even more impossible.

So, Darell made up his mind. “Let’s move out first. We’ll figure out the rest later.”

As long as they were still around, there was always hope.

After leaving Silverwood Villa, Annie took the hint and headed out with her three besties.

Victoria told Annie straight up that they could spill all the tea about the Binder family mess as much as they wanted.

Annie knew exactly what Victoria was getting at: she was supposed to make sure everyone in high society heard about Darell’s family crashing and burning, so they’d become the butt of the joke at every dinner party.

Jackson didn’t leave the Binder family estate. Instead, he accompanied Victoria to Goldenwood Villa. In his own words, he was here for the spectacle and more importantly, to officially meet her parents.

As soon as Victoria walked into the villa, Thea smiled at her with relief and pride. “Daisy is so lucky. Her wish finally came true, getting such a precious daughter like you, Victoria.”

Julian recalled Victoria’s calm and courage back at Silverwood Villa and couldn’t help but sigh, “Yeah, Victoria’s really something. She’s destined for great things. When I was her age, I never had the ability to stay so cool under pressure.”

Daisy stood up, gave Jackson a nod, then took Victoria’s hand and introduced her to her elderly parents. “Victoria, these are your grandparents.”

Victoria smiled sweetly at them. “Hello, Grandpa, Grandma.”

“Such a sweet girl!” Thea grinned from ear to ear. “Daisy never stops singing your praises when she calls, always saying how tough, independent, and capable you are. Honestly, you’re a real gem.”

After saying that, she gave her husband a meaningful look.

Julian jumped right in, “We saw everything today with the Clark family demanding you apologize. Your mom just filled us in on the reason.

“The Clarks have a lot of pull, so they probably won’t let this drop. But don’t worry, even if we aren’t as big as the Clarks in Benwig City, we’ll still stand by you and keep you safe.”

Thea turned to Jackson. “And it’s not just us, you’ve got the Thornton family too. If the Clarks want to mess with you, they’d better think hard about whether they can handle what comes next.”

Jackson got the message loud and clear. Thea and Julian were totally tag–teaming him, making sure he promised to protect Victoria right in front of them.

Honestly, even if they hadn’t said a word, he’d still do whatever it took to keep Victoria safe.

It wasn’t just because they were engaged. He really liked her, for real.
