Bater kicked hard toward Gavin, thinking Gavin surely wouldn’t stand a chance. But Gavin was lightning fa. He dodged to the side, simultaneously grabbed Bater’s ankle, and yanked with all his might.
Using the force, he sprang to his feet and pinned Bater beside him before Bater even realized what was happening. “You son of a bitch!” Gavin spat, pinning Bater down and swinging his fist hard at his terrified, distorted face.
However, just as Gavin’s fist was coming down for a second time, one of the bodyguards delivered a swift kick to his waist. Caught off guard, Gavin went down hard, flat on his back with a heavy thud.
At that moment, Nathan strode forward, calm and imposing. He looked down from above at Gavin, who was struggling to get up from the ground, his gaze as cold as frost.
Then he slowly lifted one foot and, without the slightest mercy, brought it down on Gavin’s head, as if intending to crush him completely. “So; are your fists still so tough?” Nathan taunted.
Seeing things getting out of hand, and with Jackson still nowhere to be seen, Annie had no choice but to stand up and say. Nathan, you really should think this through.
Don’t risk offending both Victoria and the Fairbank family just for Bater. You know as well as I do, neither Victoria nor sophie is someone you want to mess with.”
Gavin, still struggling, saw Annie step in and snapped, “Shut up! We’re not even related. Why are you butting in?” Annie was eft speechless.
ust as Bater finally scrambled to his feet, he pointed at Annie and yelled, “Nathan, that brat from the Thornton family deserves a beating too! She just said if our Clark family messes with that bitch Victoria, we won’t end well!”
Gavin, stuck under Nathan’s foot and unable to move, gritted his teeth and cursed, “You’re nothing but a lapdog using someone else’s authority!”
3ater finally seized his chance and kicked Gavin hard in the waist. “Let’s see how tough you can talk now! Tonight, I’m gonna break your hands once and for all!”
Nathan turned to Annie, his tone cold and threatening. “Since you said the Clark family’s already pissed off the Binder amily and the Fairbank family, so what if I piss off the Thornton family too?”
With that, he flicked his hand dismissively. At his signal, the bodyguards immediately strode toward Annie. Those who had come with Annie were all pale with fear. Not a single one dared to make a sound, terrified that one wrong move might bring rouble upon themselves.
As the bodyguard was coming right at her, Annie clenched her fists, bracing herself for whatever was about to happen. Just then, a voice rang out. “Quite the display of power, Nathan.” Everyone turned to look.
It was Sophie, strolling in with unhurried elegance, like an orchid in full bloom. Her unique and mesmerizing aura drew everyone in, leaving them utterly captivated.
Although she was a woman, her every gesture exuded a commanding presence and unwavering confidence. Her lips carried a subtle, elusive smile, perfectly poised between warmth and aloofness.
In the presence of someone like Sophie, there was not the slightest hint of disrespect in anyone’s eyes. All they felt was merely awe and genuine appreciation.
Back then, the title of female prodigy in East Coast Establishment went to Angelica, not because Sophie lacked talent or beauty but because her presence was so lofty and unattainable that no one dared to treat her as just another pretty face and

Nathan turned at the sound, his gaze growing colder. “So, Sophie, you’re here to plead for your brother?”
Sophic strode over, looking down at her dumbass brother trapped under Nathan’s foot, and said, “Nathan, you must be udding Do I really need to plead with you to save my brother? I’m only going to ask you once; are you letting him go or
Sater, annoyed and at the same time puzzled, scoffed, “Didn’t the Fairbank family send him packing to work as a delivery uy? Why do you still care about him?”
Sophie answered coolly, “How we deal with my dumb brother is our business. It’s just like you, Nathan, even though you now your uncle’s a good–for–nothing who keeps causing trouble, you still have to pick up after him every time he screws up.”
Bater blushed with embarrassment. ‘Damn, what’s up with these kids in Benwig City? Not a single one shows me any espect!‘ he thought bitterly.
Nathan, please move your foot,” Sophie said, her tone calm and commanding. Nathan fixed his gaze on Sophie for a noment, and when he was sure she meant it, he slowly moved his foot away.
The Clark family had initially planned to suppress the Thornton family while Jackson was incapacitated. Even though the Fairbank family wasn’t as strong as the Clarks, this really wasn’t the time to make enemies with them. Otherwise, they would nd up stuck between two powerful families.
Savin pushed himself up from the floor and gestured to hit Nathan. But before he could even swing his fist, Sophie
unched him hard in the gut, nearly making him vomit right then and there.
You’re getting bold, aren’t you?” Sophie said, pulling a handkerchief from her pocket, rolling it up, and stuffing it right into Savin’s mouth as he tried to speak. Then she commanded her bodyguards, “Take him away!”
Savin struggled to protest, but the handkerchief muffled everything. And just like that, Gavin was dragged away by the bodyguards,
Seeing Nathan just stand there without stopping Annie, Bater whined, “Nathan, can you really just watch your own uncle get bullied like this? Look at my face; it’s swollen like a balloon!”
Nathan’s brows furrowed still. “Bater, if you don’t want people to look down on you, you’ve got to toughen up. If you can’t ven win a fight, then you’ve got no one to blame but yourself. I’m not going to keep bailing you out every time you screw ip.”
With that, Nathan strode out of the bar, his bodyguards in tow. Bater didn’t say another word. He just barked at everyone
round, “What are you looking at? Get the hell out of here!” The onlookers scattered like scared rabbits.
You just wait, you little Thornton brat!” Bater threatened Annie before following Nathan away.
‘Annie, we’re going off too.” Annie’s three besties were still rattled from the chaos they had just witnessed. They had seen enough drama and just wanted to leave.
The one who had earlier been making snide, mocking remarks now looked at Annie with a gloating expression and said, ‘Annie, let’s see if you still dare to get so close to Victoria. You nearly got yourself into trouble just now.”
“Yeah, we’ve warned you before. Victoria pissed off the Clark family, and that’s a huge mess. Anyone close to her is just asking for trouble. Seriously, you should keep your distance,” another added.
“Yeah, you really think Victoria can go up against the Clarks? Why don’t you tell her how you almost got beaten up by Bater tonight and see if she’ll actually do anything for you,” the other sneered.
