Victoria’s eyes were sharp, almost cutting. “Of course. He deserved it. To me, no one matters more than myself.

“He might be your brother, but if he really respected you, cared about you, and treated you like his own older brother, he wouldn’t have done that to you.

“If he wanted to hurt you, even kill you, then he deserves whatever comes to him. Blood doesn’t mean much to me. I only care about people who truly care about me.”

A flicker of envy passed through Jackson’s eyes. He let out a quiet sigh. “No wonder you can see things so clearly and even go after your own brother without hesitation.”

Victoria gave a firm nod, her voice steady and sure. “He crossed me first. Why should I show him any respect?”

Jackson fell silent, lost in thought. After a while, the tension in his face eased. A small, relieved smile appeared.

He said, “I came here today because I needed answers. After seeing what you did and hearing what you said, I think I know what I should do now.”

Victoria felt a quiet sense of satisfaction. “Good. I’m glad you figured it out.”

Jackson looked at her, his gaze deeper than before, filled with both resolve and something softer. “Victoria, I’m really lucky I met you.”

She froze for a split second. Her fingers curled without her noticing.

She brought her hand to her lips and coughed lightly, trying to cover the sudden stir in her chest. “Hey, can you not get all serious out of nowhere?”

Jackson smiled. “If I’m not serious, you’ll start thinking I act like this with everyone.”

Victoria narrowed her eyes at him, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. “Oh? So now you know how to tease me?”

Victoria finished checking his legs and stood up, brushing off her hands. “Alright. I’ve done a basic check. Be here tomorrow at noon. I’ll start your treatment then.”

She glanced at the darkening sky. “It’s getting late. I have something important to deal with tonight, so I can’t stay.”

A trace of reluctance flickered in Jackson’s eyes, but he still smiled. “Okay. See you tomorrow.”

That evening, just before seven, Daisy and Hector returned to the Binder family home after buying supplies for the welcome party.

They hadn’t seen Victoria in a long while. When they called her, there was no

nswer.

Just then, they spotted the housekeeper, Zoe, passing through the yard and quickly called her over.

“Zoe, have you seen Victoria?” Daisy asked.

Zoe shook her head. “No. But Mrs. Julia Binder came by around noon. She argued with Miss Victoria Binder, then left in a bad mood. After that, I got busy, so I don’t know where Miss Victoria went.”

Daisy’s expression tightened the moment she heard that. “What is wrong with Darell and Julia? They refused to acknowledge her. Now that Victoria wants nothing to do with them, they keep chasing after her.

She picked up her phone again and called, but there was still no answer. Her voice turned urgent. “She’s not picking up. Something’s wrong. I have to go find Julia.”

If anything had happened to Victoria, she would never forgive Julia.

When Daisy and Hector arrived at the gates of Silverwood Villa, they ran straight into Julia, Darell, Curtis, and Angelica as they were coming out.

Julia glanced at them and gave a mocking smile. “Looking for us? Perfect timing. We’re heading to the family chapel to formally cut ties with Victoria. Why don’t you come along?”

Daisy stepped forward, her voice sharp. “Julia, you went to see Victoria at noon, didn’t you?”

Julia looked slightly surprised at her tone. “Yes. So what? I was giving her a chance to come back to us.”

“Victoria is missing,” Daisy said, her voice tight. “We can’t reach her. Did you say something to her? Did you do anything?”

Julia’s face darkened. “What does that have to do with me? What are you implying? That I kidnapped her?”

Behind her, a flicker of hidden excitement passed through Angelica’s eyes.

Victoria still hadn’t returned. In Angelica’s mind, that meant Simon must have taught her harsh lesson. Maybe now Victoria would finally learn not to mess with her again.

Curtis let out a cold laugh. “Aunt Daisy, I think she just got scared and changed her mind. She talked big yesterday about cutting ties. Looks like she backed out today.”

Julia smirked. “Seems like compared to you two, Victoria still wants us as her real parents. What a shame. You put your heart into her, and this is how she repays you.”

Her tone turned colder. “But don’t worry, Darell and I wouldn’t want a daughter like her.”

Angelica felt a quiet sense of satisfaction, but at the same time, she wanted everything settled quickly. She didn’t want Victoria to suddenly change her mind and come back.

Daisy’s face had gone pale with anger. “Julia, I’m not joking. Victoria is my daughter now. If anything happens to her, I will not let you off.”

Julia scoffed, “Who do you think you’re threatening? A woman who can’t even have children, stealing someone else’s daughter, and now you come here acting like a mother, huh?”

Hector’s expression darkened instantly, his voice turning cold. “Darell, control your wife. Tell her to watch her mouth.

Inside the family chapel, with Calvin present, Victoria signed her name on the agreement without hesitation.

After she finished, she set the pen down and smiled. “Your turn.

Darell and Julia signed as well, just as quickly.

Victoria took her copy of the agreement. “From now on, we have nothing to do with each other”

Julia threw her pen onto the table with a sharp clatter. “I’d like to see what you can achieve with Hector and Daisy”

Victoria smiled faintly. “Aunt Julia, did you forget what I told you at noon? You might want to remind your two sons to be

careful.”

Julia’s expression stiffened for a moment before she let out a cold laugh. “Why would I take your nonsense seriously?”

Calvin raised a hand before the argument could start again. His sharp gaze swept over his two sons. “Enough. I called you both here today for two reasons.

“One is Victoria cutting ties with you. The other is about the Binder family inheritance.”

At those words, Darell straightened slightly.

Calvin continued, “I’m getting old. I don’t know how many years I have left. There are things I need to make clear now.

“As for the inheritance, those who are capable will take more. Those who aren’t should behave themselves and stop causing trouble. At the very least, you’ll still live comfortably within the family.”

Darell glanced at Hector and smirked. “Did you hear that? Those who aren’t capable should just behave. At least they’ll still have a comfortable life.”

Hector didn’t respond. But Victoria did. She looked at Darell with open disdain. “You’re a joke.”

Darell frowned. “Victoria!”

“Don’t raise your voice at me, Uncle Darell. You’re not qualified.” She lifted the signed agreement slightly.

“That’s enough.” Calvin looked at the others. “You can all leave. I want to speak with Victoria alone.”

Outside the family chapel, Darell looked at Hector with a helpless smile. “You heard what Dad said. You know what he meant, right?

“I’m in charge of Binder Pharma Group now. Simon is running Brightstar Entertainment. Curtis just debuted and already has a hit album across the country.

“Tell me, what do you have to compete with me for the estate? All of the Binder family assets will end up in our hands. Don’t

even think about it.”

He paused, then added, “Before, for the sake of being brothers, I thought I’d let you and Daisy stay in Goldenwood Villa after Dad passes. Let you live out your retirement there.

“But now that you’re turning against us for Victoria, when everything falls into our hands, I’ll have no choice but to throw

you out.”

Hector showed no anger. He only said calmly, “Dad is still alive. Don’t celebrate too early.”

Darell laughed and patted Hector’s shoulder. “You’ve always been optimistic. Fine, then pray Dad lives a few more years. That way, you can enjoy a few more years here.”

With that, he left with his family.

Daisy watched their backs and sighed, “If Victoria hadn’t come back, I wouldn’t have known they were this cold.”

Hector’s expression was heavy as he looked after them. “I was too naive. I thought brothers shouldn’t fight over money.

“Since Darell cared so much about power and money, I let him have it. But now it’s different, Daisy. For Victoria’s sake, I have to fight.”

Daisy turned to look back at Victoria inside the family chapel, her gaze soft but firm. “You’re right. We might not care about ourselves, but we can’t let Victoria suffer with us. I just want to give her the best of everything.”

Inside the family chapel, Calvin looked at Victoria, his expression serious.

He said, “Victoria, since you’ve returned to the Binder family and accepted Hector and Daisy as your parents, you should take your place as the Binder family’s heiress with confidence.

“I’m not like Darell and his family. I won’t treat someone else’s child like my own while neglecting my real blood.”
