Chapter 253
Seeing Curtis’s expression start to waver. Marty pressed on. If you become stronger than your sister, and she realizes she can get a huge benefit from you, she’ll be the one trying to patch things up with you, not the other way around.”
Curtis clenched his fists. “What are you trying to say?”
Marty snatched the sheet music from his hand. “If Brightstar Entertainment won’t promote you, we at Galewind Entertainment will Curtis, you’re so talented. You should strike while the iron’s hot, not let yourself be buried at Brightstar.
“The entertainment industry moves fast. If you disappear for half a year or a year, you’ll be replaced by new faces in no
time”
“By then, with no fame left, you can forget about getting Victoria to forgive you”
“Come to Gale Entertainment. We’ll make you a legend in the music world, the brightest rising star. When that happens. how could your sister possibly ignore you?”
At that, Marty looked at the sheet music and shook his head in regret. “What a shame… Seriously, a song this good deserves to be heard. If it just gets shelved and forgotten, it’d be a crime. Give you the right support, and in two years, you’d be on top of the music world!”
Curtis couldn’t help but feel shaken by those words.
‘Yeah, if I end up with nothing, Victoria will just look down on me even more. Only if I become someone powerful will she ever look at me differently, Curtis thought.
“Curtis, think it over. If you need anything, just give me a call. Here’s my new business card,” Marty said, handing over his card along with the sheet music.
Once in the car, Marty glanced out the window at Curtis, who was still standing there, and gave a smug grin.
Heh, looks like reeling Curtis in is going to be a piece of cake, Marty thought.
After Marty drove off, Curtis stayed where he was, staring at the business card in his hand. Marty’s words kept echoing in his mind.
The entertainment industry changes too quickly–he didn’t have much time to waste.
He couldn’t just disappear. He had to make it big, get so famous that Victoria would have no choice but to acknowledge him.
But if he really joined Gale Entertainment, to Victoria, that would feel like stabbing her in the back all over again.
Which path should I choose? Curtis wondered.
Victoria had already heard from Agent 001, who was keeping watch downstairs, that Marty was at the company.
So, not long after she drove off, she circled back and parked across the street, watching the whole thing unfold betwe Curtis and Marty.
Even though she couldn’t hear what they were saying, she could guess Marry was probably trying to pouch Cuni Brightstar Entertainment again
And judging by Curtis’s reaction, he was wavernų
Hab, Curtis shamelessly promised me he’d rather have nothing if it mean getting my forgiveness Victoria thought

Victoria made a bet with herself
She bet Curtis would definitely end up joining Gale Entertainment. Just like Simon, deep down he was rotten to the core- he couldn’t be trusted.
She thought she’d finally see something different in Curtis, but in the end, nothing changed.
‘How boring Victoria thought
I had actually hoped for something, but in the end, it was just a pointless trip back. What a waste, Victoria thought.
She rolled up the window and drove off toward the Thornton Group,
When Marty got back to Gale Entertainment, he immediately reported to Justin about his meeting with Curtis.
Just then, Kevin, Nathan, and Nathan’s assistant were also there.
Marty stood by the coffee table, greeted Nathan with a flattering smile, and said, “Justin, I met with Curtis today. I can guarantee he’ll definitely break his contract with Brightstar Entertainment and come to Gale Entertainment!”
Justin looked up and asked, “How long?”
Marty replied, “A month, tops. We’ll make some moves behind the scenes and hype up a rookie. Once Curtis feels threatened, he’ll jump ship to Galewind Entertainment before you know it.”
“That’s what I expected from someone I personally recruited. Your skills are top–notch,” Justin said, clearly pleased with the outcome. “So, what’s the latest with Brightstar Entertainment?”
Nathan sat quietly on the couch, legs crossed. He didn’t say a word, but Marty could tell he was obviously concerned about what’s going on with Brightstar Entertainment.
“One of my guys told me Victoria brought in a few external helpers a few days ago. They’re not officially on Brightstar’s payroll, and they only go by code names. Strangely, Victoria seems to trust them a lot. My guy sent me their photos, and I looked them up on my way back–none of them are famous,” Marty said.
“Hah, just clutching at anything in desperation,” Justin said with a sneer.
“Yeah, that’s what I figured too. She probably just brought in some outsiders to boost morale. These nobodies aren’t worth worrying about. The only real problem is…”
Marty paused for a moment. “Victoria actually managed to bring out the legendary director Frank Baker, who retired three years ago due to illness.”
Hearing that name, Kevin, who was also a director, frowned.
That was the name he least wanted to hear. Even after more than twenty years in the industry, his achievements still paled comparison to Frank Baker, who had been directing for less than a decade.
“Frank Baker?” Justin looked genuinely surprised. “Are you certain?”
Marty nodded. “Absolutely. One of my employees told me Frank has already met with Victoria.
“How does Victoria have so many connections? She even got Frank to come out of retirement for her! Justin was fuming.
He figured stealing Kevin away would deal Victoria a serious blow.

But in just under a week, she managed to rope in Frank Baker!
This was a real headache for Justin.
When it came to achievements, Frank was already more accomplished than Kevin, and he did it with only five movies under his belt.
There’s an old saying in the industry: as long as Frank Baker was around, Kevin would never be number one.
He’d already paid big bucks to snatch up Kevin–he couldn’t just go and headhunt Frank too.
With that thought, Justin shot a look at Kevin sitting next to him.
Marty, always quick to please, said, “Justin, honestly, I don’t think we need to stress about Frank. He’s been out of the scene for three years–his skills are probably shot by now. Maybe that ‘health issues‘ thing was just a cover. Compared to our own director Kevin, he’s nowhere near as good anymore.”
Kevin kept quiet, his eyes fixed on Nathan, who sat across from him in silence.
After the last meeting blew up, Justin wasn’t about to risk anything. Even though he knew his next words would rub Kevin the wrong way, he still gave the order.
“Just to be safe, try to find another chance to talk to Frank and persuade him to give up directing Chasing the Dream for Victoria. If necessary, throw Nathan’s name around to put some pressure on him.”
Marty glanced at Kevin, whose expression soured, then saw Nathan had no objections, so he nodded. “Understood, Justin. I’ll start looking for Frank Baker’s contact info right away.”
After Marty left, Justin turned to Nathan and said reassuringly, “Don’t worry, Mr. Clark. At this critical moment, I don’t think any director would risk offending you just for Victoria.”
