Just imagining himself beating Victoria and making her lick his shoes got Zachary all fired up. He tilted his head back with a smug grin. “Of course, we have to livestream it!”
Victoria was Jackson Thornton’s fiancée now–she had a whole new status.
If she ended up licking his shoes, it’d be like Zachary was grinding Jackson’s face into the dirt.
“Man, we can’t wait for that day to come!”
“Zachary, you better pick the perfect pair of shoes for Victoria to lick!”
“Actually, I just thought of something,” Zachary said, then deliberately paused, leaving everyone hanging.
The other lackeys were instantly hooked. “Come on, spill it!”
“How about we… just, you know, bust a load all over the shoes?” Zachary said, grinning wickedly.
The lackeys were stunned. “Holy crap, Zachary, only you could come up with that!”
‘Damn, Zachary, you’re a freaking legend!”
Nathan just listened quietly as they trashed Victoria, keeping out of it.
When Zachary dropped that suggestion, Nathan actually spoke up for once. “Sounds like a plan.”
Zachary shot Nathan a bootlicker grin, hands clasped. “So, Nathan, you wanna get in on this? If you do, I’ll let you go first.”
Nathan replied, “No need. This kind of perk is all yours.”
‘Thanks, Nathan!”
Lexi stood outside for a while, listening to all the filthy talk inside. There wasn’t anything useful, so she turned to leave- only to spot Nathan’s assistant watching her from a short distance away.
Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly steadied herself and walked over to the assistant. “I didn’t want to bother Nathan while he was working, but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave so soon, so I hung around outside for a bit.”
Nathan’s assistant looked at her for a long moment before saying, “Ms. Lowe, it’s better not to do this again. If Mr. Clark gets the wrong idea, it won’t be good for you.”
Lexi sighed. “Alright, thanks for the heads–up. You won’t tell Nathan I was eavesdropping on him, will you?”
“No,” the assistant replied.
“Thanks,” Lexi said.
With that, she headed toward the elevator.
Once inside, Lexi replayed the assistant’s words in her mind and couldn’t help but smirk.
She was obviously acting suspicious, but instead of snitching to Nathan, the assistant just let it slide and even gave her a heads–up.

Is this guy secretly a fan of mine or something?
Maybe I can use this to my advantage, Lexi thought.
She sent Victoria a message.
[Nathan’s got this loudmouth sidekick named Zachary. He’s shooting his mouth off, saying if he wins the bet with you, he’ll stream you licking his shoes for everyone online–and the shoes will be covered in their disgusting jizz.)
When Victoria got Lexi’s message, her eyes narrowed.
Some dogs really do bark louder than their masters.
Dealing with a mutt like that? Not even worth my time. She thought.
Victoria replied:
Let him bark for a few days. When the time comes, I’ll turn him into a real mutt.]
After sending the message, she realized she’d been added to an eight–person group chat.
The group admin was Calvin.
Aside from Victoria and her parents, the four members of Darell’s family were also in the chat.
But Sirena was missing.
Calvin dropped a screenshot of his flight back home–landing at 5 PM in two days.
Darell was the first to respond: [Dad, you’re coming back?]
Simon, Curtis, and I will come pick you up!]
Calvin didn’t reply.
Victoria figured he just wanted to see how she and her folks would respond.
It was pretty clear Grandpa was dead set on getting her and Darell’s family to patch things up and play nice.
Victoria just shot back an “OK” emoji–honestly, she wanted to see what kind of pitch Grandpa would come up with to convince her.
Two days later.
Calvin’s flight was set to arrive at 5 PM, and Victoria and her parents got to the airport right on time.
But the moment they stepped into the terminal, Victoria spotted a few familiar faces.
Darell and Julia, along with their sons Simon and Curtis, had already arrived early and were anxiously waiting nearby.
When Julia saw Victoria, she opened her mouth to say something, but Darell shot her a look that made her snap it shut.
Victoria and her parents walked over.
Darell was the first to speak, greeting Hector and Daisy. “Hey, Hector, Daisy.”
