Victoria just smiled, unfazed.

“Whether I dare to cross someone depends on who this so–called big shot really is. If what you say is true and they’ve done all sorts of terrible things behind the scenes, then now that I know, I won’t hesitate to step in. I just can’t stand seeing good, vulnerable people get pushed around, especially women.”
Brian clenched his fists, struggling to contain his excitement. He stood up and gave Victoria a deep bow, his voice unwavering. “Ms. Binder, if you can really save Ashley, I’ll do whatever you ask from now on. I’ll be at your beck and call, no matter what.”
Victoria replied earnestly, “Brian, rest assured. If I decide to help you, I’ll make sure to put your talents to good use.”
After Brian left, Victoria immediately called Mara.
“Mara, dig up everything you can on Ashley Rivera–the hottest young star in showbiz right now,” Victoria said.
“Got it,” Mara replied.
For some reason, Victoria had a nagging feeling that Ashley’s situation might be tied to that new designer drug Nathan Clark had been cooking up in secret.
Maybe looking into Ashley would turn up a lucky break–something that could deal a serious blow to the Clark family.
Meanwhile, on the other side…
After parting ways with Curtis, Marty headed back to Gale Entertainment and immediately filled in the chairman, Justin, about the possibility of Brian landing the male lead in Chasing the Dream.
Justin then called his daughter, Lexi, and told her to mention this to Nathan when she went to connect with him.
‘Lexi, you need to make an effort to get close to Nathan. Guys like him have women lining up to throw themselves at him. You two aren’t married yet, so if he changes his mind, you’ll be the one heartbroken later,” Justin said.
Of course, Lexi had to stay close to Nathan–how else could she uncover more of his secrets and crimes? ‘That’s the only way I’ll get what I need,‘ Lexi thought to herself.
Before filming for Rising to the Top started, Lexi had nothing else on her schedule, so she had plenty of free time. She ordered some takeout, repackaged it into a lunchbox, and personally brought it to the Midnight Blue Club.
Midnight Blue Club only opened at night, but Nathan was often in his office during the day.
“Ms. Lowe,” Nathan’s assistant Hey was in the middle of briefing the club manager when he noticed Lexi. Something complicated flickered in his eyes, but it disappeared just as quickly. He simply nodded at her.
“I brought Nathan a lunch I made myself,” Lexi said, lifting the lunchbox–though in reality, it was just takeout she’d repackaged.
Nathan’s assistant glanced at the lunchbox and said, “Please follow me.”
“Thanks,” Lexi said, following after him.
When they got to the office, Lexi looked at Nathan behind his desk, lifted the lunchbox with a smile, and said, “Hey, Nate, have you eaten yet? I made you some lunch.”

Besides Nathan, there were also a few rich heirs hanging around, led by Zachary, all just there to flatter him.
“Man, Nathan, you’re living the good life–your girl actually made you lunch and brought it over herself,” Zachary said, laying it on thick.
Nathan glanced at the lunchbox in Lexi’s hand. “Zachary, this one’s for you.”
Lexi was taken aback.
Zachary, ever the sycophant, immediately said respectfully, “Thanks, Nathan.”
With that, he walked right up to Lexi and took the lunchbox. “Guess I’ll help myself, Lexi.”
Lexi laughed coldly to herself. ‘Good thing I didn’t actually cook this for Nathan–otherwise, I’d be seriously crushed,’ she thought.
‘What are you doing here?” Nathan asked coldly, not even bothering to look at her.
Lexi forced a smile, pushing past her discomfort. “Obviously, I missed you, so I came to see you–and to check if any random girls are trying to cozy up to you behind my back.”
That was the same excuse Lexi had used before to purposely get Angelica out of here.
Remembering that, Nathan’s gaze turned icy as he finally looked at her. “Come here.”
Lexi took off her mask and sunglasses, slipped them into her bag, and walked over. As soon as she got close, Nathan yanked her into his arms. “If you’re so worried about other women stealing me away, then show me how much you want to keep
ne.”
Lexi swallowed her disgust, keeping her expression perfectly composed and even a bit aggrieved. “I went out of my way to nake you lunch–doesn’t that count as pleasing you?”
Nathan stared into Lexi’s seemingly sincere eyes. If Angelica hadn’t told him that Lexi had purposely helped Victoria take her away before, he would’ve totally bought her performance.
Such a drama queen.
Forget it.
Her pretty face is still useful, so I won’t bother with her for now.
If the Clark family really wants to go legit, they’re gonna need help from those big names upstairs. He thought.
‘Actually, I came to see you today because I have something else to tell you,” Lexi said, wrapping her arms around Nathan’s neck. “My dad heard that Victoria is planning to cast Brian Thompson as the male lead in Chasing the Dream.”
At the mention of that name, Nathan’s eyes darkened. “Brian?”
Lexi nodded. “Yeah.”
“Does he have a girlfriend named Ashley?” Nathan asked.
Lexi blinked in surprise–Nathan, who usually couldn’t care less about women, actually remembered a starlet’s name.
Now that was unexpected.

“Yeah dort the poor girl who got dumped and had her heartbreak splashed all over the news, Lexi replied
Nathan was in danger to the name Ashley–she was that guest at the Secret Garden who once caught the attention of a powerful figure
Back then, Ashley herself had no idea who secretly brought her to the Serres Garden party. But after she got noticed, the person who brought her along suddenly climbed the social ladder–barely managing to squeeze into the ranks of the elite.
As for Brian, he was senterne who should’ve been wiped out long ago
Nathan wrapped ius arm around Lexi’s slender waist, his voice taking on a sinister edge. “If Victoria really casts Brian, she’s planting a ticking time bomb in her own company*
“Whe do you mean? Lex pressed, curious.
Nathan pushed her away. “Don’t worry about it. Just do your job?
Lexi stumbled, needing a moment to steady herself. She forced a reluctant smile and said, “Alright, I won’t bother you at work just make sure you eat properly”
Lexi, I’ll give the lunchbox back once I’m done!” Zachary called out,
Just toss it. No way I’d let Nate use a lunchbox after some other guy used it; Lexi replied.
With that, Lexi straightened her clothes, put her mask and sunglasses back on, and walked out.
After Lexi left, Zachary was practically giddy, “If Victoria really puts Brian as the male lead in Chasing the Dream, that show s dead on arrival. Looks like I’m about to win my bet with her! I can’t wait for the day that woman has to lick my shors!”
Nathan was in total agreement. No matter how you sliced it, Victoria was destined to lose.
And losing wasn’t just about licking shoes.
He was going to wipe out the entire Binder family. He wanted Victoria to become a toy for anyone to use and abuse, all to avenge his uncle rotting away in prison.
“Zachary, you better livestream it when the time comes! Let everyone online see what happens when someone dares to cross our Nathan!” the other lackeys chimed in.
