Chapter 298
On the other end of the line Stephan sand. He’s come to Mullinan Village
Victoria was speechless
What the hell is Simon thinking, coming all the way to Mullinan Village Victoria thought
Nerom Youne and I have all been busy lately, so we didn’t notice a stranger in the village at first Simon didn’t say who he was rust settled in I only found out about him just now,” Stephan explained.
1 dor I know what’s going on with him, but I sent you a video. Take a look,” Stephan added.
Victoria nodded. “Okay”
She put her phone on speaker and set it on her desk, then grabbed her mouse and opened Facebook on her computer. chicking on the video Stephan had sent her.
The video lasted about a minute.
In the video, Simon was standing outside the small cottage where Victoria used to live. His gaze lingered on a dried herb hanging by the door. He slowly reached out and gently touched the herb, as if he was remembering something from the
past.
Stephan’s voice came through the phone again. “Victoria, you’ve watched the video, right? What’s Simon up to here? Is he feeling nostalgic or something?”
Victoria watched Simon in the video, and she couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
She just couldn’t figure out why Simon would show up here at this time, doing something like that.
Stephan continued, “So, what do you want to do about this? Or should I just rally the whole village and throw him out?”
Victoria replied, “No need for that, Stephan. I’ll ask his family to come pick him up.”
Stephan said, “Alright, so we don’t have to watch him pretending and making us sick.”
Stephan sneered, “Wasn’t he the one who refused to come get you before? Now he’s here, acting all pitiful in front of the whole village. Who’s he trying to fool, anyway?”
Having said his piece, he added, “Alright, Victoria, I’ll let you get back to work.”
‘Alright, you go ahead and get back to your work too, Stephan,” Victoria replied.
After hanging up, Victoria rubbed her temples.
Simon really has way too much time on his hands now that he’s not running Brightstar Entertainment anymore, she thought
Half an hour later-
Curtis showed up at Brightstar Entertainment, looking a bit disheveled from the rush.
He glanced at his mother, Julia, who was still asleep in the waiting room, but didn’t wake her. Instead, he made his way straight to Victoria’s office.

He knocked on the door then pushed it open and walked right m
Vickie I’m here, he called out
Victoria lookest up, her tone cool Your mom’s in the waiting room next door Shell probably be waking up soon
She sounded a bit impatient “Do you know about Simon going to Mullinran Village?”
Curtis froze, looking awkward and not saying a word.
Victoria saw his reaction and got even more annoyed. “So what’s Simon up to? Let me guess–now that the poison’s out of his system, he’s got a bone to pick with me, but since he can’t do anything about it, he’s planning to vent his anger on the villagers instead?
Worned Victoria might misunderstand Simon, Curtis hurried to explain, “No, Vicky… Simon isn’t out to cause trouble After the poison was gone, he had some kind of epiphany and just wanted to see what your old life was like for himself.”
He wants to experience my old life?” Victoria snorted, like she’d just heard the funniest joke. “Is he getting all emotional after everything that happened? Please. That just annoys me.”
Curtis quickly added, “Vicky, seriously, you can relax. Simon never planned to hurt anyone in the village.”
“Simon doesn’t even have the ability to hurt them,” Victoria scoffed. “Anyway, your mom already came to me about this. You need to tell her right now that Simon’s in Mullinran Village. If she bothers me again, I won’t just make her pass out–I’ll do something a lot less pleasant.”
Curtis lowered his gaze. “Okay.”
He left Victoria’s office and walked back to the waiting room, just as Julia was waking up.
Seeing Curtis, Julia shook her head, realizing Victoria had pulled her tricks again. She grumbled, “Curtis, your sister is just too much! She stuck me with a needle again!”
“Come on, Mom! Simon’s gone, and you come running to Victoria? Are you really accusing her?” Curtis said, clearly annoyed.
Julia looked hurt. “Well, who else am I supposed to ask? You keep saying you don’t know where your brother is, so of course I’d go to your sister!”
“Simon went to Mullinran Village! He didn’t want you or Dad to find out, so he made me promise not to say anything. Now you know, so just leave! And stop bothering Victoria from now on!” Curtis didn’t even try to help Julia up–he just strode out, still angry.
Now that she knew where Simon was, Julia finally stopped making a fuss and just followed Curtis out of Brightstar Entertainment.
Once they got in the car, Julia still couldn’t figure it out.
“Why on earth would your brother go all the way to a backwater like Mullinran Village? Is he really out there all by himself? Who knows if that place is even safe…” she muttered.
Curtis didn’t even want to deal with her, but her endless nagging got to him. “Mom, Simon and I are adults. We know what we’re doing. Can you please just stop worrying about it?”
Julia immediately looked wounded again. “If I wasn’t your mom, I wouldn’t care what you two did! I’m just worried something might happen to Simon. He’s always been a pampered rich kid–if he gets bullied out there, it’s not like anyone’s going to hear him scream–for help!”

Curts shipped on his Bluetooth headphones and blasted the music, drowning out Julia’s voice completely
After dropping Juha off. Curtis pulled out his phone and sent Simon a text
[Mom went to Brightstar Entertaiment today and gave Victoria a hard time She found out you’re in Mullinran Village |
Mullinan Village
The place was peaceful and out of the way, like it belonged to another world entirely.
Simon stood in front of a run–down mud house when his phone suddenly buzzed.
He took out his phone, and the screen lit up with a message from Curtis.
Reading the text. Simon’s expression dimmed.
Just then. Simon heard footsteps coming up the path behind him. He turned around and saw a middle–aged man approaching, it was Stephan Cooke, the same guy who’d shown up at Victoria and Jackson’s engagement party.
“Mr. Cooke…” Simon greeted, surprised but respectful.
Stephan’s expression was downright unfriendly, and his tone was full of suspicion. “Simon Binder, right? What’s your game coming all the way out here?”
Simon hurried to explain, “No, Mr. Cooke, you’ve got it all wrong. I just wanted to see the place where Victoria used to live. Honestly, I’ve always felt terrible for not coming to bring her back to the Binder family myself.”
Stephan let out a cold laugh, totally unfiltered. “If you hadn’t been kicked out of the Binder family, you wouldn’t even care about feeling guilty!”
Stephan’s words cut right through Simon, leaving him speechless. He couldn’t say a thing–because Stephan was spot on.
“Stop being an eyesore around here! If you really want to repent, go crawl to some temple and beg for forgiveness like those drama queens.” Stephan sneered, slung his hoe over his shoulder, and walked off.
It didn’t take long for the villagers to figure out who Simon was.
“So that’s Victoria’s real brother? He couldn’t even be bothered to come get her back then,” someone said with a smirk.
“What a joke! Like Victoria ever cared about joining their family,” someone else laughed.
“So what’s he doing here now? Trying to cozy up to us so we’ll say nice things about him?” someone guessed sarcastically.
“Keep dreaming!” someone scoffed.
