Nathan snapped awake the moment he heard the butler’s words.

“Mr. Clark, Mrs. Clark wants you downstairs right now!” the butler said.

“Got it,” Nathan replied, sitting up. Instead of heading to the bathroom, he immediately called his assistant, Fynn. “Didn’t I tell you to keep an eye on the internet and shut down any news about last night the second it pops up? Get in touch with all the major sites right now and make sure every single post about what happened at Midnight Blue last night is wiped off the internet!”

Fynn sounded frustrated. “It’s no use, Mr. Clark. There are just too many videos. They’re everywhere. Even if we pay to take them down, they’ll just pop up again on all those marketing accounts across different platforms.”

Nathan snapped, “I don’t want to hear any more excuses. In half an hour, I want every single trace of what happened at Midnight Blue last night wiped off the internet, no matter what it takes or how much it costs!”

With that, he hung up and immediately started scrolling through all major platforms.

Sure enough, the hashtag [Midnight BlueOrgy] was already trending at number one.

There were tons of videos online, each showing different guests from Midnight Blue. Even with the mosaics, it was obvious what was going on.

The videos were everywhere online, and the fallout for Midnight Blue was utterly devastating. Half an hour later, Nathan forced himself to calm down before finally heading downstairs.

Miranda was already waiting on the living room sofa.

Her eyes half–closed as she was deep in meditation.

Hearing footsteps coming down the stairs, Miranda opened her eyes.

“Kneel,” she commanded.

Nathan walked downstairs.

And, with a heavy thud, he knelt in front of Miranda.

“Do you even realize how much your screw–up is going to cost the Clark family?” Miranda demanded.

Nathan hung his head, mumbling, “Yeah, I know.”

“Do you know how disappointed your father would be if he saw what you did to the Clark family?” Miranda pressed.

At the mention of his late father, Nathan’s eyes grew misty. “I let Dad down.”

His father had died saving him.

Before his dad passed, Nathan was just a pampered rich kid who never had to do anything for himself. He always thought the Clark family ran a squeaky–clean business. So when he found out they actually built their empire on shady deals and that a lot of their businesses were still flirting with the law, Nathan just couldn’t handle it.

He despised his father.

He even hated him–hated that his dad couldn’t clean up the Clark family, and that he was stuck being the heir to a dirty legacy.

He chose to run away from home, but ended up getting kidnapped by enemies looking for payback. His father gave his life to save him.

It was only after his father died that Nathan realized just how naive he’d been. He was forced to grow up overnight.

The first thing he did after pulling himself together was hunt down the enemy who had kidnapped him. He hired a Zarovnian hitman to have the entire family killed, then dumped their bodies in the ocean to feed the fish.

From that moment on, he got a taste for holding life and death in his hands, and there was no turning back. His methods became more and more ruthless, and Miranda grew more and more impressed with him.

After her tirade, Miranda turned to the butler. “Have all those videos and posts about Midnight Blue been taken down yet?”

The butler’s face was grim. “No, Mrs. Clark, not yet…”

“Why can’t you even manage to get the videos off the internet?” Miranda snapped, her voice rising.

Nathan immediately said, “Grandma, I’ll get to the bottom of this right now.”

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone.

“Don’t bother!” Miranda cut him off. “If your people can’t suppress the news, it means someone out there is making sure you can’t!” She knew it was pointless to let Nathan keep struggling.

Nathan paused, his hand hovering over his phone. Just as he was about to put it away, it started ringing.

It was the manager of Midnight Blue.

He answered, and the manager’s anxious voice came through.

“Mr. Clark, bad news. All those guests who were caught on camera last night are banding together to sue Midnight Blue. They’re saying we drugged them, and they’re just victims in all this.”

Nathan had expected this. They were bound to pull this move.

They need to show they were coerced, not acting of their own free will.

“What do we do, Mr. Clark?” the manager asked, his voice trembling.

Nathan looked up at Miranda.

Just then, the butler rushed in from outside.

When the butler saw Nathan kneeling, he hesitated for a moment, then quickly turned away.

Nathan finally stood, his brow furrowed, his voice icy, colder than the air outside. He asked, “A live stream? What’s Victoria showing out there?”

The butler turned back, looking uneasy. “According to the staff downstairs, Victoria is live–streaming Darell confessing to hiring a hitman to kill his wife. Right now, Darell is kneeling outside, shouting that you forced him into it. That he was just a victim.”

Miranda’s gnarled hands clenched tightly, her cloudy eyes flashing with unprecedented malice. “Well, isn’t this just great! Victoria is trying to throw the Clark family into chaos and make sure we never have a moment’s peace!”
