Chapter 379
Victoria lounged with her hands in her pockets, watching Darell kneel in the freezing snow, loudly accusing Nathan of forcing him.
She brought Darell to the Clark family today to cause a scene–one, to make sure the Clarks wouldn’t get any peace, and two, to stir up public opinion so the family couldn’t just sweep the case under the rug.
No matter if the hitman ended up naming Nathan or not, Nathan was never going to be able to dodge the blame completely.
Darell was so cooperative simply because he knew there was no way he’d escape punishment, so he was determined to pull others into the mess with him.
Victoria was dragged into it, too.
After all, stirring up trouble at the Clarks‘ mansion would only make them resent her even more.
Annie was glued to her phone, watching the viewer count on the livestream skyrocket.
‘Victoria’s influence is insane!‘ Annie thought.
As soon as people heard Victoria was the one streaming, the viewers just kept piling in.
[Streamer, is it true someone actually hired a hitman to kill his wife?]
Annie Thornton replied, “It’s true. It happened last night, and the hitman has already been caught.”
[Streamer, can we see the hitman?]
Annie replied, “Nope, can’t do. He’ll be handed straight over to the cops.”
[What a scumbag! He actually hired a hitman to kill his own wife just to get his hands on the family money!]
[Streamer, is all that stuff about Midnight Blue online for real?]
Annie said, “You bet! Every word of it is true!”
[The Clark family has been dropping bombshells left and right lately!]
[Seriously, you guys don’t know? Word is, the Clarks made their fortune in the underworld, and now they’re just trying to clean up their image!]
[If what Darell’s saying is true and Nathan really hired the hitman, who knows how many people the Clarks have had killed over the years!]
[Hah! That’s just how it is! They just never got caught before!]
[But this time, the Clarks ran smack into Victoria–the high society enforcer! Forget about trying to clean up their act; all their dirty secrets are about to get dragged out into the open!]

Chapter 379
[Man, that description is spot on! Victoria really is a breath of fresh air in the elite circle!]
[High society seriously needs a shake–up! Some of these folks act like they’re above the law, totally out of control–breaking half the criminal code and still partying like nothing ever happened!]
Before long, Nathan showed up with his butler and a couple of bodyguards in tow.
Victoria met Nathan’s murderous glare with a lazy grin. “Mr. Clark, didn’t get much sleep last night? Those dark circles under your eyes are pretty intense.”
“Victoria, what the hell is that supposed to mean?” Nathan’s eyes blazed with fury.
Victoria shot back, “Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear Darell shouting?”
Nathan snapped, “You’re accusing me of forcing him to hire a hitman to kill his wife? Where’s your proof? If you don’t have any, you’re just making stuff up!”
Victoria laughed. “Wow, look at that! The Clark family suddenly cares about evidence? Honestly, I don’t know either. The hitman says Darell hired him, but Darell keeps saying it was you. So I brought him over so you two can clear things up in person.”
Nathan gritted his teeth. “A face–off? With no evidence, you’re just slinging mud at the Clark family! Don’t think I won’t drag you to court right now!”
“Slinging mud? Seriously?” Victoria turned to Annie’s phone camera, grinning. “Mr. Clark thinks I’m making the Clark family look bad? That’s a riot! What do you guys think? Do they even need my help to look dirty?”
The livestream chat blew up instantly.
[The Clark family is already filthy! If you tried to sling mud at them, it’d probably make them look cleaner!]
[You guys are so filthy, our eyes can’t take it anymore! Over fifty customers threw a wild orgy at Midnight Blue last night, and everyone knows you were the masterminds behind it!]
[Hold
up,
folks! The story’s flipped online. Those customers are saying they were victims too, drugged by Midnight Blue! Now they’re banding together for a class–action lawsuit against the Clark family!]
[Oh wow! The Clark family is toast this time! No matter how big their influence is, there’s no way they’re getting out of this unscathed with so many people coming after them!]
[Pfft, that’s nothing! Just like last time, they’ll find some useless Clark family member to take the fall!] Victoria turned back to Nathan, a smirk tugging at her lips.
“Mr. Clark, come on. Everyone can see the truth. Your family’s already dirty enough without me throwing any mud,” she sneered.
Darell shouted, “Mr. Clark, you’re the one who hired the hitman! That guy’s supposed to be some legendary hitman–never botched a job. Someone like me could never get in touch with a killer like that! The whole murder–for–hire thing was Nathan’s setup to get revenge on my daughter, Victoria! If his plan had worked, Victoria would’ve been framed as the criminal!”

Chapter 379
Nathan never expected Victoria to show up at his mansion with Darell and cause such chaos.
And to make things worse, she broadcasted the whole drama online!
In his original plan, even if the hitman failed, he could just let Darell take the fall and be done with it.
After all, there was no way the hitman would ever betray the Clark family.
But now, with the Midnight Blue scandal still fresh, the reputation he’d worked so hard to build was crashing down, and everyone was siding with Victoria.
Nathan clenched his fists. “Victoria, shut down the livestream right now! This isn’t good for either of us!”
Victoria raised an eyebrow. “Scared? Looks like Darell was right. You really did hire that hitman.”
“No way I’m turning off the livestream. Everyone wants to know the truth,” she went on.
“And don’t even think about having your bodyguards try anything rough, or you’ll just be adding another crime to your list.
“I’m curious. Why do you think this livestream isn’t good for me?” she asked.
Annie jumped in, “The chat says you’re stirring things up and that’s gonna make a lot of people in high society mad! Plenty of them are in bed with the Clarks, so you’d better watch your back, Victoria!”
Victoria replied with a drawn–out “Oh,” “Thanks for the concern.”
Just then, Miranda came out, looking serious as she faced Victoria. “Alright, about the murder–for–hire and the chaos at Midnight Blue last night, the Clark family will make sure everyone gets answers.”
“But Victoria, you’re not the police. This isn’t your place to deal with,” she fumed.
“This livestream of yours is just freaking people out and causing a public panic,” she added.
Victoria nodded. “Miranda, fair enough. Okay, Annie, shut down the livestream. Gotta give the Clarks a little time to pick their next scapegoat, right?”
Comments came from the Livestream again.
[Ms. Binder dropping truth bombs again! With the Midnight Blue scandal, you just know the Clarks are gonna find someone to take the fall!]
[Don’t worry, Ms. Binder! We’ll be watching the Clarks like hawks–just stay safe out there!]
[If anything happens to Victoria, you can bet the Clark family’s behind it!]
[Relax! Victoria’s engaged to Jackson now, and you know he’ll keep her safe for us!]
Annie said, “Alright, that’s a wrap for today’s livestream! Next time, it’ll be Victoria’s bet with Zachary in three days–same channel, same time! Come watch Victoria walk Zachary like a dog! Don’t miss it!”

With that, she ended the livestream.
Now that the livestream’s done with, Nathan turned to Miranda. “Grandma, it’s freezing out here. You should head back inside. I’ll handle everything else from here.”
Miranda didn’t budge, shooting Victoria a vicious glare. “Hey, kid, you really stirred up trouble this time. Did you even think about the consequences?”
Victoria didn’t look the least bit threatened. “Come on, you really think if I don’t fight back, you’ll just let me walk away? Hasn’t it always been the Clarks throwing their weight around, trying to get rid of me?” she said.
“Too bad your golden boy, Nathan, is just as much of a loser as Darell; neither of them can take me down,” she added.
