Nathan glanced at the courier package and asked offhandedly, “Oh? This is from the express service? Does it say who sent it?”
His voice remained steady, seemingly unconcerned with the package.
The assistant shook his head. “No, there’s nothing written on it. Do you want me to open it?”
Under normal circumstances, any package without a clear source would be inspected before being delivered to Nathan, just to make sure it was safe.
But today, things were different.
This was the Royal Bowling Club, and only people with close ties to the Clark family would know Nathan was coming today.
So the assistant hesitated, unsure if he should just open the package.
Nathan clearly thought the same thing. He waved his hand and said, “Just leave it here. I’ll open it later.”
His attention stayed focused on the screen in front of him; he did not really care where the package came from.
Right now, what really had Nathan’s attention was imagining how jaw–dropping the scene would be when Zachary triggered an explosion during the live stream.
He could already picture that moment when everyone would be stunned by the sudden chaos.
“Yes, Mr. Clark,” the assistant replied, stepping forward to place the express delivery package on the table.
At the same time, Nathan pressed the remote in his hand.
Boom! A deafening explosion rocked the VIP lounge.

Meanwhile, Victoria was still live–streaming, leading Zachary, who was crawling on his knees like a dog. Suddenly, her phone rang.
Mara was calling.
Victoria picked up, and Mara’s icy voice came through.
“Boss, there was an explosion at Nathan’s side.”
Victoria glanced at the leash around Zachary’s neck and grinned. “Got it.”
She thought, ‘Looks like everything’s going according to plan.

After hanging up. Victoria hummed a little tune and kept parading Zachary up and down the street.
Annie followed along, calling out, “Step right up, don’t miss your chance! Someone’s being walked like a dog. Free show, don’t miss it!”
Some folks had come specifically for this, and even random passersby joined in.
“Haha, I totally nailed it! It’s actually streaming live at Brightstar Entertainment headquarters!”
“Ms. Binder, you’re a total badass!”
After about 10 more minutes of walking Zachary around, Victoria finally looked down at him and tossed the leash aside. “Alright, walk’s over. Get lost.”
Zachary’s face lit up the moment he heard it was over. He scrambled up from the ground, looking stunned. He asked Victoria, “Wait, I can really leave now?”
Victoria waved her hand impatiently. “Hurry up and get out of here. Don’t hang around in front of me.”
Zachary was so happy he could barely contain himself. He ripped off the leash and dashed away.
Victoria picked up the leash, took off the bell, and yelled after him, “Hey, isn’t this yours? Not taking it with you?”
[Ha, turns out Zachary brought that bell himself!]
[Guess he didn’t mind playing the dog that much!]
Zachary’s steps halted. He turned and glanced at the bell in Victoria’s hand, then shook his head. “Nah, you can keep it!”
With that, he dashed off.
Victoria smirked. ‘Perfect. With so many viewers watching live, everyone can vouch that Zachary brought that bell himself,‘ she thought.
‘And Zachary is so focused on escaping that he probably still hasn’t figured out why I asked about the bell.’ Annie, who had been trailing behind, sidled up to Victoria and said with a pout, “Victoria, it’s over already? The viewers haven’t had enough yet!”
The livestream viewers were all saying they still had not seen enough of it.
Victoria tossed the bell into a trash bin by the road and said, “Alright, that’s all for today. Thanks for coming today, everyone. You can disperse now.”
Annie chimed in, “You heard her, guys! That’s it for today’s dog–walking stream! See ya!”
With that, she ended the stream and sighed. “Victoria, that was way too quick. It wasn’t even half an hour. You really let Zachary off too easily.”

Victoria said, “He’s already embarrassed himself enough. There’s no need to waste too much time on him.”
“True! Your time is way too valuable for that!” Annie agreed.
Nathan’s side was hit with an explosion. If it managed to kill him, that would be perfect. But realistically, given the bomb’s power, it would not be lethal unless it was strapped directly to the body.
If Nathan made it out alive, he would definitely retaliate soon. Victoria just had to make sure Zachary had enough time to escape abroad.
*****
“Hey, did you hear? There was an explosion at the Royal Bowling Club!”
“What, is it some kind of terrorist attack?”
“No, nothing like that. The blast was pretty minor; just three people got injured.”
“Who was it? Who got hurt?”
“No idea. I saw a video online at first, but it got taken down pretty fast.”
After work, as Victoria walked past the main office, she overheard the employees gossiping about the explosion at the Royal Bowling Club.
When they saw her, everyone stopped talking and greeted her warmly, “Ms. Binder.”
Victoria nodded. “I’m clocking out.”
After leaving the office and getting into her car, Victoria got another call from Mara.
“Boss, there’s an unexpected development from the Royal Bowling Club explosion.”
“Oh? What is it?” Victoria asked.
“Besides Nathan and his assistant, there’s another
person who got hurt…”
When Mara revealed the person’s name and title, Victoria’s expression turned grave.
Victoria had always known the Clark family had someone powerful behind them, but she had not realized their backer held such a high office in Benwig City.
Then again, it made sense. Someone in that role could open a lot of doors for the Clark family’s business dealings.
“Boss, should we keep digging?” Mara asked.
Victoria understood Mara’s concern. However powerful the Clark family might be, they were still, at their core, a business family.
The ones backing them, however, were on an entirely different level.

But a pest was still a pest. Victoria was not going to back off just because it came with a strong background.
“Of course, we’ll keep investigating,” Victoria said. “We’ll use this opportunity to look into the Clark family’s backing properly. But from now on, we need to be more careful. No reckless moves.”
“Got it, Boss,” Mara replied.
After hanging up, Victoria drove straight to the Thornton Group.
*****
At the Thornton Group, in the CEO’s office, winter sunlight streamed through the floor–to–ceiling windows, filling the spacious, luxurious room.
As soon as Jackson saw Victoria, he wheeled himself over with a curious grin. “I heard there was an explosion at the Royal Bowling Club this morning. Details are still under wraps, but word is that Nathan and his assistant were the ones who got hurt.
“Was that your doing, Vickie?”
Although it was phrased as a question, Jackson’s expression made it clear he already knew the answer.
With unusual composure, Victoria walked to the sofa, set down the medical kit, and took a seat. She looked at Jackson and said quietly, “No matter how Nathan investigates, he won’t trace it back to me.”
She picked up her cup from the coffee table, took a sip, and continued, still looking unbothered. “The bell that exploded was given to Zachary by Nathan himself.
“The bell that was supposed to be on Zachary ended up with Nathan, so if anyone looks suspicious, it’s Zachary. The only fingerprints on it will be Zachary’s and Nathan’s assistant’s.”
After she finished, Victoria paused for a moment, watching Jackson’s reaction.
But Jackson did not press further. He just sat quietly in his wheelchair, lost in thought.
Seeing Jackson was not going to ask more, Victoria spoke up first. “Jack, didn’t you hear? Besides Nathan and his assistant, there was someone else who got hurt in the blast.”
