Chapter 397
“Were you just talking trash about me?” Victoria leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a teasing smirk playing on her lips.
Geoffrey’s face froze for a second. He hurriedly shook his head, insisting, “No, absolutely not!”
Victoria’s grin grew even brighter. “Didn’t you say you wanted to make amends? How come you’re already losing your cool? Honestly, you’re nothing compared to Curtis and Simon. They stuck it out for ages to get my forgiveness, and you can’t even last a day?”
Geoffrey couldn’t fake it anymore. ‘Doesn’t she care at all that this face has girls falling for me left and right? How can she be so ruthless?‘ he thought, feeling a bit stunned. But he was at the Binder family’s place now, so like it or not, he had to keep up the act.
So, Geoffrey took a deep breath, forcing down his anger, his face still swollen as he said, “If this is what it takes to make you feel better, Victoria, then go ahead; I’ll take whatever you dish out.”
With that, he lifted his head and met Victoria’s eyes head–on, refusing to back down, that easygoing, crowd- pleasing smile still plastered on his face.
Victoria looked at him, his smile so awkward it was almost painful to watch, and let out a dismissive snort. At this moment, Geoffrey had lost every bit of his charm.
“Oh? At least you know your limits. Just focus on getting better; I’ll spare you today, but tomorrow, you’re back on the chopping block.
“I believe in pacing myself; even payback comes in stages. Can’t just wreck you all at once, or how would I have any fun later?” Victoria teased, her smirk never fading.
Geoffrey put on his best pitiful face. “Victoria, I know you won’t really be that heartless, right?”
“Oh, I totally would. I even sent my own dad to jail,” Victoria said, her voice cool. Seeing Geoffrey’s face go pale, she snickered. “Seriously, I’ve never seen anyone so clueless. You went and got yourself beaten up to try and win my sympathy? That’s a new level of dumb.”
Geoffrey’s face stiffened again, and he rushed to defend himself, “Victoria, that’s not it, really. You misunderstood. I never meant to get close to you like that.”
“I wonder if Nathan’s still able to rest easy knowing his cousin just walked right into my trap,” Victoria said with a lazy smirk, then turned and strolled off.
She tossed a command over her shoulder to the bodyguard at the door, “Keep an eye on him. If he tries to run, break his legs.”
“Yes, noted,” the bodyguard replied. With that, the bodyguard closed the door.
As the door clicked shut, the smile vanished from Geoffrey’s face. ‘Is Victoria actually serious?‘ he thought, a chill running down his spine. ‘Is she really planning to lock me up and rough me up every day?”
He immediately decided that if that was truly her intention, he needed to find a way to contact Nathan and

When Victoria arrived at Brightstar Entertainment, Tracy immediately said, “Ms. Binder, Brian’s here. I had him wait in the lounge for you.”
Victoria’s eyes flickered with interest. “Alright,” she replied.
Victoria walked up to the lounge door. “Brian, come to my office.”
“Sure,” Brian said, getting up and following her out.
As soon as they got to the office, Brian shut the door and blurted out, “Ms. Binder, Ashley’s in real danger right now! Can you please help me save her first?”
Victoria sat down, her tone calm. She said, “What’s going on?”
Brian pulled out his phone, opened up Ashley’s X account, and handed it to Victoria. “She posted something in the middle of the night last night. I can tell she’s really not doing well.”
Victoria looked down at the post Brian showed her. It was a really creepy drawing; messy, almost frantic lines, and it was supposed to be a face, but one couldn’t tell who it was at all.
But Victoria noticed something; the person in the drawing had a mole at the corner of their right eye. Interestingly enough, that detail matched what Mara had previously uncovered about the big shot backing Nathan.
“What makes you think Ashley’s in trouble just from this drawing?” Victoria asked, raising an eyebrow.
Brian replied firmly, “Ashley’s been into art since she was little, but her drawings have always been positive and healthy. Even before I announced she was my girlfriend, she loved making those adorable cartoon versions for me.
“If nothing goes wrong, she’d never draw something this disturbing, let alone share it online. She must be asking for help, and I know it’s for me, because I’m the only one who understands her.”
No matter how one looked at it, that drawing was downright creepy; something was definitely off about it.
Brian’s voice shook as he pleaded, “Ms. Binder, I know I have no right to ask you for help, but honestly, you’re the only person I can turn to for Ashley…”
Victoria said coolly, “If your hunch is right, I’ll find a way to save Ashley. But I’m not doing this out of charity. From now on, you and Ashley are signing with me; you’ll both be working for me.”
Brian nodded vigorously. “Absolutely! If you can save Ashley, I’ll sign a permanent contract for you; I’ll be yours, no questions asked!”
Victoria said, “Alright, the casting for Chasing the Dream is all set. Make sure you’re ready for when filming starts. Don’t let Frank down; he believes in your acting skills.”

‘If I want to get close to Ashley, my best shot is to get her to join the cast of Chasing the Dream,‘ Victoria thought. With that in mind, she pulled up the profiles of Brightstar Entertainment’s ace agents.
After browsing for a while, she closed the files. ‘No matter who tries to approach Ashley on behalf of Brightstar Entertainment, it could be risky, Victoria thought.
‘Forget it, I’ll handle this myself, as an agent from my own company,’ she decided. Using her own account, Victoria checked out Ashley’s X page once more.
Under Ashley’s late–night post, most of her fans were having fun with it in the comments.
[Well, Ashley’s really channeling her inner Picasso tonight!]
[Ashley: Taking it easy today!]
Of course, some people were saying things like:
[Wait, am I the only one who thinks this drawing is kinda weird? The more I look at it, the creepier it feels!]
[Maybe your eyes are just playing tricks on you! Ashley’s obviously just having fun with some goofy abstract doodles!]
[Whatever, stans. I’m just trying to give a heads–up about Ashley’s mental health.]
[Ashley’s doing great, no need for you to worry!]
[Ashley was live–streaming just a few days ago; she was in great spirits, no worries!]
Plenty of fans were also bringing up Brian in the comments.
[Could this drawing be about Brian? Isn’t he making a comeback soon? And he’s even playing the male lead in Viara’s big IP, Chasing the Dream!]
[Now that you mention it, it really does look like she’s throwing shade at Brian. All her other drawings are so artsy, but this one’s just a messy scribble; definitely a jab at him!]
[I really can’t understand Victoria’s choice. With so many top–tier actors available, she went with Brian, of all people. She’s practically setting herself up for failure; I’m just waiting for Chasing the Dream to flop.]
[Guys like Brian deserve to flop and disappear for good! And any show bold enough to cast a scandal magnet like him deserves to go down in flames right along with him!]
[That’s why I’m way more hyped for Rising to the Top. They picked Larry as the male lead; he’s the best actor, and he’s never had a single scandal since he debuted!]
[And Lexi, the female lead, totally wipes the floor with that rookie from Chasing the Dream!]
[Ashley, don’t worry; we’ll always support you, and we’ll keep dragging that jerk Brian through the mud!]

[Everyone online keeps praising Victoria, but I don’t like her at all. Who chooses someone like Brian as the lead in their own novel? I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s no better than him, maybe even sneaking around behind Jackson’s back.]
