Victoria cut him off. Save it. I don’t go back to my exes, and I don’t want you bothering me anymore. My fiancé won’t be happy about it.

She didn’t feel sorry for Gavin. She just thought he was acting like a child.

If two people were together, they should talk things out instead of keeping everything bottled up and assuming the worst about each other.

Gavin stopped begging and turned furious. Victoria, I knew it. You never cared about me. For two years, you just treated me like your doormat.

Losing me is something you’ll regret. Mark my words. You’ll soon realize that no one will ever love you or treat you as well as I did.”

With that, he hung up.

Victoria was speechless.

If this was Gavin’s idea of loving her, his socalled affection was just emotionally unstable and honestly repulsive.

She believed that real love was about respect and understanding.

But Gavin was seriously trying to win her over by belittling her.

Victoria felt it was unfair.

For the past two years, she’d never treated Gavin like a doormat, and she never expected him to act that way.

Everything Gavin did for her was his own choice. She never asked for any of it. So, how did it turn into her being accused of treating him like a doormat?

Some men were just impossible to understand when they insisted on making themselves the doormat.

Jackson saw the baffled look on Victoria’s face and chuckled. Alright, go back and get some rest. Don’t overthink it.

Victoria shrugged and slipped her phone back into her pocket. You too. Get some rest. It’ll help your legs heal.

And you’re coming to my welcome party tonight, right? There’s bound to be some juicy drama, so make sure you’re well-

rested.”

Jackson grinned. I’m looking forward to seeing you fight back.

It was in the grand hall of the Binder family’s Silverwood Villa.

Darell and Julia, following Calvin’s instructions, arrived early at the welcome party venue to help Hector and Daisy welcome the guests.

Angelica, I really busted my ass getting Leslie to hook me up with this evening gown.Curtis bragged, grinning snugly Daisy probably still thinks hers is the real deal.

But tonight, when you and Victoria show up in your dresses, everyone will see who’s got the legit one and who’s rocking a knockoff. Victoria’s gonna look bad.

Angelica admired her dazzling reflection in the fulllength mirror, spun around, then stopped in front of Curtis and flashed him a sweet smile. Thanks, Curtis.”

Seeing Angelica’s adorable smile, Curtis felt it was totally worth it. Angelica, only you deserve the best dress out there. Victoria? She doesn’t even qualify.

Noticing Simon zoning out on the couch and not saying a word, Angelica straightened her dress, walked over, and asked quietly, Simon, is something bothering you?

Curtis picked up on Simon’s odd mood, too, and turned to look at him.

Simon looked up, met Angelica’s concerned eyes, and shook his head. I’m fine. After a pause, he added, You look beautiful tonight.

Angelica hesitated for a moment and said, I heard from Rachel that you’ve been worried about the copyright for Viara’s last novel, right?

She paused and then added, Maybe I can help. I know a writer from the same site as Viara. He says he knows her pretty

well.

Maybe I could ask him to arrange a oneonone meeting between you and Viara?

Simon’s expression finally shifted. Really?

Angelica nodded. If you need me to, I can check with him for you.

Simon’s eyes lit up with hope. Thanks, Angelica. I’ll leave it to you.

Angelica smiled. Simon, you’re welcome. I’m happy to help.

Simon smiled. Angelica was so caring and gentle. There was no way she could have done what Victoria accused her of, like hiring someone to hurt Victoria.

Victoria was just trying to drive a wedge between him and Angelica.

Curtis, standing nearby, chimed in with a snide tone, Simon, look at how much Angelica cares about you. You really shouldn’t let her worry, right?

Simon knew what Curtis was hinting at. He gave Curtis a complicated look and said, There’s something about my right leg I can’t discuss yet. I can’t go into details right now.

Curtis snorted. Come on, what else could it be? Victoria must’ve done it.

Simon stayed silent, but to Curtis, that silence was basically confirmation.

Curtis said, exasperated, Seriously, Simon, what kind of dirt does she have on you? She messed up your leg, and you still won’t do anything about it?

If you’re too scared to offend her, I’ll deal with her tonight.

Simon frowned and warned, If you’re not sure you can pull it off, don’t mess around. It might just backfire on you.

But Curtis just grinned, brimming with confidence. Relax. I’ve already been burned by her once. No way in falling for it

again.

Tonight, I’m gonna embarrass her and make Grandpa give up on her for good

With that, Curtis smirked like he already had the whole thing in the bag.

It was seven o’clock in the evening.

Representatives from nearly every prestigious family in Benwig City arrived one after another at the Binder family’s welcome party for their real heiress.

As Angelica walked in through the entrance, Daisy, who was busy greeting the guests, froze for a moment and quickly tugged at her husband Hector’s sleeve.

Hector, something’s wrong. Look outside, she whispered urgently.

Hector followed Daisy’s warning and glanced toward the doorway. The moment he spotted Angelica, his expression turned stormy.

The evening gown Angelica was wearing was identical to the one Daisy had prepared for Victoria.

Daisy’s face turned ghostly pale. Hector, don’t tell me the dress I got for Victoria is a fake.

Her yoice was shaky, almost on the verge of crying.

Given her status, she never even considered the possibility that the dress was a counterfeit.

But seeing Angelica walk in confidently wearing the same gown she’d chosen for Victoria, Daisy felt a wave of panic. She must have messed things up big time.

Hector took Daisy’s hand and said gently, Daisy, don’t panic.”

After seeing Curtis and Angelica coming in, Julia walked over to Daisy. Oh, Daisy, isn’t this supposed to be Victoria’s welcome party? Why the long face?

Daisy snapped out of it, her gentle look twisting into disgust. She muttered angrily, Julia, you did this on purpose, didn’t you?
