Chapter 410
When Daisy heard she’d get to style Victoria, her eyes sparkled with excitement; this was both her passion and her job. She nodded right away. “Absolutely, just leave it to me.”
After breakfast, Victoria headed to Brightstar Entertainment.
“Good morning, Ms. Binder,” Tracy greeted her, standing up and following Victoria into her office with a stack of files. “Ms.. Binder, after what you did yesterday, Brian’s reputation has been restored, and his popularity is skyrocketing.”
“What’s going on with Gale Entertainment?” Victoria asked as she settled into her chair.
“Gale Entertainment just posted on X; they’re temporarily replacing the lead actress with one of their own, Azalea Stokes. The opening ceremony is happening today,” Tracy replied.
‘So they’re actually going ahead with filming Rising to the Top,’ Victoria thought.
“Ms. Binder, now that Brian and Ashley’s drama got flipped, is Stephen next?” Tracy was practically bouncing in her seat. waiting for Victoria to drop her next bombshell.
Rolling with Victoria was like starring in a power fantasy; every day was a wild, satisfying ride. Victoria was out here smacking her rivals left and right, making them eat their words.
Victoria caught Tracy’s excited look and grinned. “Exactly. All that dirt on Stephen? Total nonsense. He’s the one stirring up trouble and acting innocent.”
“That’s awesome! So Chasing the Dream isn’t some drama-packed with problematic stars after all!” Tracy was practically bouncing with excitement. “Ms. Binder, you knew from the start that all that dirt on Brian and Stephen was fake, didn’t you?” Victoria replied, “Of course, Chasing the Dream is my debut project; I’m careful to protect my reputation.”
Tracy was so moved she almost teared up. “Ms. Binder, you really see the big picture! I guess I was thinking too small!”
“Alright, get back to work,” Victoria said.
“Yes, Ms. Binder!” Tracy practically skipped out of the office, buzzing with energy. She could almost see this year’s bonus already beckoning her, calling her name.
Victoria called Frank. “Mr. Baker, how’s the casting coming along”
“It’s going really well. Since you personally picked Ashley for another role, we’ll have the whole cast locked in by mid-month at the latest. I guarantee every part will be spot-on,” Frank replied.
“All right then,” Victoria said. After hanging up, Victoria leaned back in her chair, thinking things over.
Casting for Chasing the Dream would wrap up by mid-December, which meant they were almost a month behind Rising to the Top.
With Frank’s strict standards, there was no way Chasing the Dream would get slapped together; they’d need a solid six months to do it right.
If Rising to the Top could cut down two or three months from filming and another two or three from post-production, they’d save a real three to six months.
With that much time, even releasing just two episodes a week would have been enough to finish the series. Since both shows shared the same theme, whoever premiered first was bound to dominate the competition.
Nathan’s original plan to go after Chasing the Dream was actually pretty smart, Too bad Gale Entertainment’s chairman.

Justin, just wasn’t up to the job. He handed everything over to Timothy, and that ended up planting a ticking time bomb in the casting process.
And Nathan thought the casting for Chasing the Dream was a total disaster waiting to happen. But as it turned out, all that dirt on Brian and Stephen was just baseless rumors and slander
Victoria was set on making sure Rising to the Top never saw the light of day. After snatching Curtis from Brightstar Entertainment, she was ready to add insult to injury for Gale Entertainment and push them even deeper into the red.
She honestly couldn’t believe Justin would really let Gale Entertainment rot in his hands, or, like he said, would rather let his nephew inherit the company than sell the shares to Lexi for cheap.
Just as Victoria was deep in thought, a knock at the door pulled her back to reality.
Three gentle knocks echoed through the room. The sound was quiet, but in the silent office, it stood out distinctly.
Then Tracy’s voice came from outside. “Ms. Binder, Curtis is here to see you.”
Victoria raised an eyebrow. ‘Curtis?’ she thought. ‘Well, talk of the devil and here he is!
Victoria straightened up and said calmly, “Let him in.”
“Alright,” Tracy replied.
Before long, the office door swung open. Curtis stepped in, moving slowly and heavily.
He looked rough; stubble all over, hair sticking out every which way, and that usually rebellious, handsome face was now drained and exhausted.
Clearly, life had hit him hard these past few days, especially after learning his father, Darell, had hired a killer to take out his mother. That kind of shock would shake anyone to their core.
“Vickie…” Curtis began, but then paused, realizing it wasn’t appropriate. He quickly corrected himself, “Ms. Binder.”
“What is it?” Victoria asked. Maybe it was hearing Curtis call her Ms. Binder” that made her expression finally soften a little.
As long as Curtis and his family stopped trying to reestablish family ties, force their way back into the Binder family, or plot to reclaim the family assets, Victoria was willing to treat them like any other stranger. After all, harboring resentment wouldn’t do her any good.
“I’m planning to move abroad with my mom,” Curtis said, sounding a bit resigned. “A foreign music company’s really interested in my music; they’re ready to buy out my contract for three million dollars. But all the profits from my new album still go to Gale Entertainment.”
“Congrats,” Victoria replied calmly. “The way things are here right now really aren’t great for you. Your music’s pretty rock- oriented, so heading overseas is probably the best thing for you.
Curtis was surprised; Victoria was actually being sincere, not mocking him for once. Curtis started to say something, but held back.
He wanted to say, ‘I never thought you’d actually care about me, but kept it to himself. He figured it’d probably just rub Victoria the wrong way if he said it, so he stayed quiet.
“Take care of yourself,” Curtis said after a pause.
“Last night, the real story behind Brian and Ashley’s relationship drama came out. I looked it over; if it’s true, you might run into some trouble. If you ever need anything, just message me on Facebook. I promise. I’ll come back right away!”
Seeing Victoria’s lack of reaction, Curtis let out a self-mocking chuckle. “With all those friends and family who care abou

you, and Jackson backing you up, I guess you’d never really need my help anyway.
Victoria just asked, “When are you leaving?”
At her question, a faint spark returned to Curtis’s tired eyes. “My flight’s the day after tomorrow.”

He really wanted to ask Victoria if she’d come to the airport to say goodbye to him and Julia. But he just couldn’t bring himself to say it. He was afraid she’d turn him down, and even more afraid she’d just shut him out for good, cold and indifferent.
Just then, Victoria asked, “What about Simon? Any plans for him
Curtis shook his head. “Honestly, Simon and I haven’t really talked much lately,”
He looked at Victoria. “I’m guessing Simon will come find you soon; just ask him when he shows up.”
Victoria didn’t say anything else. Things got awkward between them again.
“Oh, right… Ms. Binder, I’ve been meaning to say, thanks for saving my mom,” Curtis said, giving Victoria a deep bow. Victoria’s expression barely changed as she answered, “I just wanted to clear my name and make sure Darell went to prison. Helping your mom was just incidental.”
